Rub-A-Dub-Dub Birthday!

Hello all! I hope the week is treating you well so far. It's back to school time and I'm sure many of you sent your students off to start a new year like I did yesterday. Time flies alarmingly fast!

For your viewing pleasure today, I'm taking a little break from the wedding theme to bring you a birthday card for a little one in your life. It features the Bathtub Time die that that was part of the baby release this spring. This die has ten individual elements you can use to create a large variety of scenes. It's a great die to play around with and easy to construct. There are enough pieces to decorate both the front and the inside of a card like I did on this one.

I also used the Stitched Oval Set to create the frame on the front and the mat inside the card. The Happy and Birthday Expression dies were used for the sentiment inside.

To learn how this card came together, please click on the YouTube thumbnail below. If you are a fan of embossing or want to some additional ideas on combining embossing techniques, I think you'll enjoy this one.

Thanks for spending a few minutes with me today. I'll be back tomorrow with another video.

Let's Go Fishing! Double-Fold Card

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! It's Janet from SugarShine Designs with a masculine card for you today. This card is called a double-fold card and is also known as a Joy card fold. By complete coincidence, Lois posted this same card fold on Monday except she turned it so that the card opened up vertically. My card opens up horizontally but is otherwise very similar. This is a nice fold because it starts out a normal A2 size but once opened expands to three panels and 10.25" wide.

I used many different die sets to create this project but if you don't have all of them, just substitute with different dies. This same idea can work on a number of different themes. Just start by thinking about what you want to use for the closure and then go from there.

In my case, I started with the tree from the Grass, Trees & Vines set and built the rest around the outdoors theme. I also used all the dies from the stamp and die set called Woodlands. The detail in these stamps and dies are awesome. You can color these any number of ways but I chose to use my PrismaColor pencils. I colored the dies from the Fishing Gear set with distressed ink.

Colorful Collage Mother's Day Card

Happy Mother's Day! It's Janet from SugarShine Designs and it's my turn to bring you the Sunday edition of the blog. In honor of Mother's Day I present a colorful card featuring one of the CottageCutz Baby release dies called, Elephants on Parade. I also used the Oval Doily & Frame, Stitched Oval Set, and the Double-Stitched Rectangle Set to make this card. Find all the new baby release dies here.

I had a ball playing on the idea that in the Indian culture, elephants are honored and loved, just like our Moms are. Although this card focuses on Mother's Day, it could easily be changed into a birthday card too. Please visit the video which shows you how this goes together.  I've included all the dimensions and supplies needed for this card in the video description.

I hope you have a most wonderful Sunday and a happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's out there. It's your day. Enjoy it!
