Mouse With A Cupcake

Hi!

It's Anja here. I have another card for you today. Again with a little different opening. This time I used a cute mouse lightening a candle.

For this card I used:
- Cottage Cutz dies (Mouse With Cupcake, Pierced Circle Set, Circle Set, Nested Stitched Scallop Circle Set),
- Distress Inks (Spun Sugar, Antique Linen, Worn Lipstick, Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Brushed Corduroy, Vintage Photo, Black Soot),
- white card stock for die cuts,
- patterned paper for die cuts,
- black pen,
-white pen,
- liquid drops (yellow),
- hole puncher,
- split pin,
- paper glue.

First I cut and colored the mause and the cupcake. I used liquid drops for the icing.

Next I cut three pairs of circles. I colored the middle circles around the edges.

Then I glued the circle together and made a hole on top to insert a split pin.

And then I just glued the mouse and the cupcake on top and my card was done.

Have a nice Sunday and see you again next week.

Anja Z.

Christmas Cardinals

Good Morning Crafty Friends!

It is Pam sharing with you today.

Great news CottageCutz is having a Christmas in July sale!  You can save up to 65% on Christmas dies like the one I am showing you today!

CottageCutz isn't having a new release this month so we are pulling out older dies and giving them a fresh new look. We are calling it our throw back month!

In South Carolina we have a large population of beautiful Cardinals.  I just love watching them out of our back windows.  They are such gorgeous birds.  And I love the bright red against our very green backdrop.  So with that said those sweet birds were my inspiration for today's card.

Design Steps:
 1.  Cut all of the pieces out of white card stock using the Cardinals & Birdhouse die and the second to the largest Nested Stitched Scallop Circle die
 2. Color the pieces with your markers then assemble the birds and bird house
 3.  Place the die back over the scalloped circle. Use a cloud template and a sponge dabber to create the clouds.  Move the template down and continue creating the clouds
 4.  When you are finished you will have a nice clean edge
 5.  Use a white A2 card base cut a red checked piece of DP 5 1/4 x 4.  Also cut a piece of green checked DP 5 x 3 3/4.  Glue the pieces to the front of the white card base.  Add 2 1/4 x 3 3/4 in pieces of red checked DP toward the bottom of the card
 6.  Glue the birds and the birdhouse to the scalloped circle as shown
7.  Using dimensional tape mount the birds to the front of the card and add the sentiment.  Last add a little Stickles to the birdhouse roof for some glittering snow.

Birthday Cupcake!

Good Morning Scrapping Cottage Friends!

We have a  Mother's Day Release available in the online store now.  There are 22 fantastic dies!  These dies are so adorable and can be used for other occasions so don't miss out!  Today, I am using the cupcake for a birthday card!
Design Steps:
 1. Using the Mother's Day Cupcake die cut all of the pieces of the cupcake out using pink, green, white and yellow card stock
 2.  Assemble the cupcake as shown above, I colored the heart and small flowers with my markers
 3.  Use an A2 card base, cut a 4 1/8 x 5 1/4 piece of white card stock and run it through the swiss dot embossing folder, cut a piece of striped DP 3 x 5, cut a strip of pink card stock 1/8 x 5 and a piece of dotted DP 1/4 x 5
 4.  Using the Scalloped 2 1/2 inch circle die cut a circle on the striped DP 1 inch from the top.  Glue the 2 strips to the embossed white card stock as shown
 5.  Glue the DP with the scalloped circle cut out to the embossed card stock as shown
 6.  Using foam tape pop the cupcake to the center of the circle
7.  Using white foam sheets that have adhesive on the back run it through the machine using the Expressions Happy Birthday die.  Adhere the Happy Birthday to the front panel just below the cupcake.  Then glue the embossed panel to the card front

Happy New Year! Bottle Tag

Hi everyone! The new year is fast approaching and that means that many of us will attend a gathering of some sort to celebrate the arrival of 2018. Often a bottle of wine is an easy and appreciated choice for a hostess/host gift. I thought I would create a bottle tag instead of the usual wine bag to make it a little extra special.

To construct this tag, I started with a piece of black glitter card stock and used a Scalloped Nested Die to cut the bottle neck hole. Then I used the Birch Tree die as the background and slipped the doe and fawn into the trees. The Happy New Year Ornament was cut out of gold card stock and placed on top of a doily from the Nested Stitched Doily set cut out of white holographic paper. For a final touch, I applied some chunky white glitter at the feet of the deer to appear as if they are standing in snow. You could skip this step if you are in a hurry or do not have the glitter on hand.

This tag was made using the dies shown below but if you do not have these particular designs, use your creativity to decorate your tag in another way. For example, it does not have to say anything about the new year. Instead, you can use a Thanks or other Expression die in combination with other shapes to create your own bottle tag. There are many occasions it could be used for as well. For example, you could decorate it to celebrate a birthday or to congratulate someone for something.

This tag was surprisingly quick to construct when you let the dies do all the work for you. If you wanted to put more time into it, you could shade the deer and the birch trees but I really wanted to show you could create this without much fuss and still get a great result.

To learn how to construct this bottle tag, click on the YouTube thumbnail below.

Thanks for joining me here at the Scrapping Cottage. I hope you have a very happy New Year!

Snowman Shaker!

Hello Scrapping Cottage Fans!

It is Pam sharing with you today!  This is my last post before Christmas so I wanted to wish you all a very blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year! Let's hope 2018 will bring good health and happiness to all!

Now it is time to share my card!

I can't get enough of this adorable Sweet Snowman die so I made this last Christmas card into a fun shaker card! And actually it could be used for a winter birthday card too!

Designer Steps:

 1.  Use an A2 white card base and cut a slightly smaller piece of purple card stock then set aside.
Next cut a piece of fun foam and designer snowflake paper 4 x 5 1/4.  Run both the foam and DP through the die cutting machine with the 3rd to the largest Cross Stitched Circle dies in the upper center of the paper and foam.  This will create the opening for the shaker card
2.  In between the foam and the DP sandwich a piece of acetate
3.  Next cut out a Stitched Scallop Circle 3rd from the largest in white.  Then lay the same Crossed Stitched Circle die you used to cut the opening onto the scalloped circle and cut.  This will make a nice frame for the opening

4.  Place a small pile of turquoise sequins and snowflake sequins onto the purple paper directly under the acetate opening
5.  Place glue on the back of the foam all around the opening and the entire back then lay it centered over the opening on the purple card stock.  Attach the white scalloped from to the front to frame the opening of the shaker
6.  Using the Sweet Snowman die cut out all of the pieces using, purple, turquoise and white card stock
 7.  Assemble the snowman I colored the branch arms and carrot nose with copic markers
 8.  Pop dot the snowman to the front of the card, add the ribbon, cotton ball on the hat and sentiment
9.  And finally attach the purple card stock to the white card base and your card is complete
