Happy Birthday

Hello!  This is Sukie and I have another birthday card to share created with the new Cottage Cutz Birthday dies.
I found the patterned paper in my stash and pulled the solid color stock to coordinate with the colors.
I cut out the Party Mouse with Presents in white card stock and used some inks to shade all of the pieces.  I also cut the Stitched Wide Rectangle Frame.
Totally Sky Trendy Twine coordinated perfectly with my background paper.  The sentiment is from the Scrappy Moms (retired) Simple Sentiments.
The patterned paper was layered on the red card stock.  I wrapped the twine at the top of the card base.  The lighter blue paper was layered underneath the Wide Rectangle Frame.
The sentiment was anchored in the corner of the frame and the Birthday Mouse with Presents was balanced inside the frame.
The finishing touch was a twine bow.  I tied the ends of the bow for a bit more softness on my card.
Here are the dies used on my card, available in the shop:

Animals Celebrating

Hi!

It's Anja here. I have a simple and fun card for you today. Again using one of the new Birthday Release dies.

For this card I used:
- Cottage Cutz dies (Party Animal Bus, Celebrate Expressions),
- Distress Inks (Antique Linen, Shabby Shutters, Broken China, Barn Door, Fired Brick, Brushed Corduroy, Vintage Photo, Pumice Stone, Black Soot, Hickory Smoke, Picked Raspberry) and Oxides (Broken China, Twisted Citron, Peeled Paint),
- white card base (15x15 cm),
- white card stock for die cuts,
- silver pigment ink,
- black pen,
- plastic stencil (clouds),
- brushes for background,
- paper glue.

First I cut and colored all the pieces for the bus. I used black pen for the eyes.

Next I cut and colored the sentiment.

And then I made the background directly on the card base. I used brushes for coloring. I made the clouds with a stencil and grass just by coloring on the paper with the brush. I used Distress Oxides for better effect.

And when I had finished my background, all I had to do was glue the bus and the sentiment on top. And my card was done.

That's all from me for today. Have a nice Sunday and see you again next week.

Anja Z.

Hedgehogs Selfie Card

Hi, Janja here with you.
This week I have a cute birthday card for you with a hedgehog's selfie.

- CottageCutz dies: Birthday Hedgehog, Stitched Rectangle Set, Stitched Square SetSending Hugs Bear
- card base: 4.25 x 5.5" (10,8 x 14 cm), folded
- patterned paper: 4 x 5.20" (10,2 x 13,2 cm)
- colored cardstock
- colored ink pads
- self-adhesive foam pads, glue

First, double cut out the hedgehog with a balloon.
My hedgehogs are cut out of colored cardstock and the edges are colored with colored ink pads.

For a polaroid frame, use a rectangle and a square die. Cut out four frames.

Attach the hedgehog on the back of the white frame. Use scissors to trim the hedgehog around the frame. Paste the remaining frames together.

Insert a blue background at the back of the frame. Attach the other hedgehog and balloons to the background with self-adhesive foam pads.

Cut the sentiment out of white cardstock. Prepare a card base and a piece of pattern paper.

When the card was completed, I drew white lines to the balloons.

Thanks for stopping here and happy crafting.
Janja

It's A Party!

Happy Friday!  It's Jeanne today with a clean and simple birthday card using a die from the new birthday release.  This Party Mouse with Presents is adorable and makes for a very festive birthday card.  About half way through making this card, I realized that by making the presents in Christmas colors and changing the sentiment I could have a sweet Christmas card too!  How wonderful is that?
I started by stamping my stripes on a white A2 card base.
I then cut the die pieces from white card stock and used a combination of die inks and Distress Oxide inks to color them.
I stamped the sentiment in green and used the second largest oval from the Wacky Stitched Oval set to cut it out.
I glued the mouse and packages to the oval.
I used some gold cord underneath and popped the oval off of the card base using foam dots.  As a final touch I added a few gold sequins.
I hope you enjoyed today's card.  It went very quickly but I think it is very effective.  I will definitely be making this card again using a Christmas theme!
