Aussie Smiles

Hello CottageCutz Friends,

It is Pam sharing with you on the blog today!

I have created a slimline card today featuring a number of the Australian Friends dies.  This sweet card uses the WombatDingo and the Echidna dies.  There are 14 different dies in this release and all of them are just as cute as they can be!!  If you haven't checked out the Australian Friends Release click HERE.

Design Steps:
1.  Using these dies: DingoWombat and Echidna cut out the following colors of card stock: rust, tan, brown, dark brown, white and black.  Assemble the critters with a fine tip, fast drying glue
2.  For the white card base use a slimline measuring 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 (folded) Cut a piece of black card stock with the Film Strip Slimline.  Also with the same slimline cut out the Smile which is included in the Film Strip Slimline.  Cut a piece of blue DP 3 1/4 x 2 1/4 glue to the center of the white card base
3.  On the card front glue down the film strip and the smile as shown in the picture above
4.  For a little added decoration use the Spring Grass die and cut it 3 times out of green card stock.  Cut the pieces to fit inside of the film strip sqaure and glue down.  Use the Koala Bear w/Floral die and cut out 4 green leaves and 2 yellow flowers.  Glue the leaves and the flowers in the corners of the top and bottom film strip squares as shown above
5.  Add the remaining critters and some small rhinestones to the flowers centers.  I decided to do the inside of the card by adding one film strip square and some leaves with yellow flowers.  I stamped inside of the square to complete the card

Please Take One Treat Sign

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends!
Melinda here with you on this Terrific Tuesdie! Today I am sharing a project featuring that sweet little Echidna and the Protea dies from the Fantastic new Australian Friends Die Release!!! Here is what I created.
I made this adorable little sign to go with my little treat pail. I used the sweet little Echidna die to create the star of this little sign.

I started by cutting out all of the pieces in plain white cardstock. That is my favorite thing to do. It is such a treat to color the pieces in. I say treat because coloring is very relaxing for me. I then turned to that adorable Protea die and cut those pieces out in white as well. I then proceeded to color the various pieces in. I then cut some of the scallop stitched rectangles from that set.

I used three of the rectangles in the set. I added some colored cardstock mats to the two larger ones that I used. I then added some foam tape and some double-sided tape to the back of the medium sized mat. I built up the sides with foam tape so that I can compensate for the stick. I didn't want it to be lumpy.

I then mounted the medium one to the larger mat. Once that was completed, I printed out the Please take one and added that to the smallest rectangle. I finished it off by adding a little bow to the stick.

I used some clear tape to adhere the stick to the side of the pail. This way as people take one of the little treats the stick won't wobble around.

Here is one more look at the finished project. I work at a place where customers stop by and wanted to have a little something out there for them.

Here is the fantastic new collection

The Dies I used to create this project:

I used the Scallop Stitched Rectangle set, however that is currently sold out.
This is a great alternative through.

Together

Hi everyone I am here sharing another card using dies from our Australian release.  You cant go wrong using these cute Wombats and Dingos!
I diecut each animal twice so I could make a Wimbat/Dingo pack and used the greenery from to surround them

I used desert sand and a deep brown for the wombats and sand and a reddish brown for the dingos
I sort of layered the different leaves as if they were in the bush outback and then glued everything all together

This completes my card and always…

Swans for Mother's Day

Hello CottageCutz friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Saturday edition of the Blog.

We have a new release in the online store. It's our Australian Friends with 14 new designs. The dies are perfect for Mother's Day, Baby Cards, Kids & Adult Birthdays, Thinking of You, Thank You - just about any occasion you would need a card for.

They are currently on a limited time sale of 30% off the individual dies. For your viewing pleasure today, I am featuring the new Swan die. If you have followed my card samples here on the CottageCutz Blog, you know I am a user of designer papers. They help to create such great backgrounds.

I have had these Landscapes patterns for a while. They are a big assist in creating a scenic card with your dies. Here are a couple of cards I previously made using these papers - Card 1, Card 2 . Today I am using another pattern and created a Mother's Day card. So let's get started with dome details of how I created my card.

Design Steps:

I already mentioned the designer paper I was going to use. I didn't want to lose too much of the paper so I decided to make a square card. I paired the paper with a bright pink cardstock. I liked the look of it together and I think it complements some of the pink tones in the paper.
Pink card base: 5 3/4" square
Designer Paper Layer: 5 1/2" square
Next, I cut my swan. Since this is a Mother's Day card, I wanted some cygnets (baby swans) in the scene. So I used the Mama Duck & Ducklings die, and I am calling it artistic license (lol)! I did look at some photos online and to me the cygnets look like ducklings.
I stamped my Mother's Day sentiment onto a Stitched cloud. The cloud is from the 2018 In-Stitches release.   I used a light purple cardstock and stamped the sentiment in a grape ink.
Now that all my elements are prepared, I am ready to start card assembly. I attached the designer paper to the card base with double sided tape.  The Swan images are attached with glue dots.
To finish off my card I added the sentiment cloud and then decided to add another one. I also cut a cattail from the Swan die and added that to my card. I had to move the little baby swan closer to the water pool.
And, that finishes off my card for his week. I hope I have given you an idea for a different way to use this new Swan die. See you next Saturday!
