New Release Time!!

Hello Friends

It is Pam creating with you on the blog this wonderful Monday morning!

I am very exciting to share with you a die from the NEW RELEASE!  The die is called Spring Shower Buddies.  And I decided to use this die for a card of encouragement with a little perk inside!

For this card base I used a piece of white card stock 5 1/2 x 4 1/4.  And then added some cute DP on top of that. On top of the base you are going to add a piece of white card stock 9 3/4 x 4 1/4 scored on the long side at 3 1/4 x 6 1/2.  The fold is an accordion fold.  I then added more DB and my cute little animals cut with the Spring Shower Buddies die

On the middle panel I made a little pocket for the surprise gift card.  I stamped the sentiment on the far right panel and added another little umbrella that I cut from the Rainy Day Duck die

These new CottageCutz Products are coming soon!  Make sure to be watching for them in the store.  This release is out of this world adorable!

Blessings and Take Care

Wild Thing

Hi!

It's Anja here. I have a bright colored card for you today.

For this card I used:

- Cottage Cutz dies (Safari Giraffe, Safari Phrases),

- Distress Inks and Oxides,

- white card base (15x15 cm),

- yellow, brow, black and green cardstock,

- black pen,

- white pen,

- water spritzer,

- gold acrylic paint,

- brush,

- heat gun,

- paper glue.

First I cut all the pieces for the giraffe. I used colored cardstock and a bit ow brown shade to emphasize the edges.

Next I cut the sentiment. I cut two sets and adhered one on the top of another.

Then I started on the background. I used Distress Oxides and mixed three colors together.

After that I spritzed water drops all over the colored parts. I dried it with the heat gun. And on top I added small drops of gold acrylic paint. Again I used the heat gun to dry the paper.

Last I added the giraffe and the sentiment and my card was done.

This is all from me for today. Have a nice Sunday and see you again next week.

You're The Grrreatest

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Saturday edition of the Blog.

We have a brand new release of dies in the online store. It's our Circus release with 16 new designs. They are currently on sale at 25% off individual dies. The Safari release dies are also on sale at 25% off individual dies. This was our Black Friday release.

The Circus & Safari dies are so cute for Birthday, Valentine, Thinking of You or even Father's Day cards. Just let your creativity soar. The DT has been showing some great ideas & techniques for ways to use these dies. So if you missed any check back on the Blog.

Today for your viewing pleasure, I am featuring the Leaping Lion die and created a birthday card. This one is going off to my grandson who has a birthday next week. So let's get started on some details of how I created my card.

Design Steps:

I started my card this week with the layout. I saw this sketch #841 on Splitcoaststampers and like all the layers in it. It gives me a chance to use my collection of designer papers.
Next, I made my selection of designer papers and that determined the card colors. I chose some patterns that are festive and I thought would work well for this birthday card. Smooth sailing so far!
Black Card Base: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Background Designer Paper Layer: 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"
Dotted Paper Layer: - used 3rd largest Rectangle die (2 3/4" x 3 3/4")
Teal Layering Panel: - used 2nd largest Stitched Rectangle die \ (2 7/8" x 3 7/8")
White Image Panel: - used largest Rectangle die (3 1/8" x 4 1/8")

Then I cut the leaping lion in coordinating colors to the cardstock.
Stamped my sentiment on the white rectangle piece. It's element 3 of the sketch. I rounded the original panel and then my ink smeared. So I cut another rectangle and then forgot to round the corners on this cut.
Now that all my elements are prepared I am ready to start card assembly. I attached the background designer paper to the black card base.
Then I added the Leaping Lion to the stamped sentiment panel. I used glue dots and Ranger multi medium matte adhesive to secure.
I attached the other panels to the card base using double sided tape.  For element 5 of the sketch I used the stars from the Circus Side Show die and moved to the bottom of the image panel instead of the top. I scattered a few other smaller stars around the image panel just for added interest.
Well, that's it for me for this week. I hope I have given you an idea for another way to use this die. Next week we will be starting to show samples from our new Spring release. So make sure you check back starting Monday.

Happy Dance

Happy Friday!  It's Jeanne today with a birthday card featuring the Prancing Pony die from the new Circus release.  These dies are so much fun.  I love using them with bright and cheerful paper!

To begin I chose a patterned paper so I could get my color palette.  I cut an A2 panel from pink, a polka dot panel 3 3/4 x 5 inches and a white oval using the second largest of the Nested Stitched Eyelet Oval dies.

I used a corner rounder punch to round the corners on the polka dot panel.

Then I centered everything and glued them together.

Next I cut my horse from two shades of gray cardstock and the accessories from white cardstock which I colored with Copic markers to match the background paper.

I assembled the drum and pony separately but glued the pony to the drum before adhering them to the oval.  I wanted the pony to be centered and that made the drum off center.

For my sentiment and banners I cut three strips 3/4 x (approximately) 6 inches.  I stamped my sentiment on the white strip.

I fishtailed the ends of the two patterned strip and laid them at angles under the pony. I trimmed the excess on the left with scissors.  For my sentiment I trimmed it to 4 1/4 inches across and used foam tape to adhere it to the card front.

For a little bit extra I added some glitter enamel dots to the area under the horse and the banner.

I hope you've enjoyed my card today.  I think it would make a darling card for a little girl who loves ponies!  Be sure to visit the online store where the Circus dies are on sale for a limited time!

Special Hello

Hi Scrapping Cottage Friends

It is Pam sharing some creative ideas with you on the Thursday blog!

I am using our fantastic Safari Release today to create a cheery hello for my friends in Ohio who are really stuck in their homes because of a hugh snow storm.  I used the Safari Adventure Gang for all of these fun little animals!  The dies in this collection can be used for so many different projects!

Design Steps:
1.  I am using a slim line card so the measurements are 8 1/2 x 7 scoring along the 7 in side at 3 1/2.  Also cut a piece of white card stock 3 1/4 x 8 1/4.  Use the Stitched Wide Circle Frame dies the smallest one and cut out 3 white frames.
2.  Center and pop up the frames to the piece of white card stock.  Cut out the animals using the Safari Adventure Gang and rust, brown, light yellow, gray, black and white card stock.  Shade and assemble the animals.  I used a black gel pen for the eyes, nose and antlers.  Pop up the animals in the frames then glue the white panel to the card front
3.  Using the Stitched Alphabet die cut out the word hello twice.  Glue the letters together and then pop to the card as shown below
4.  Cut out some leaves using two different shades of green.  The die I used for the leaves is the same the Safari Adventure Gang.  It has a great variety of leaves.  Stick the leaves behind the animals and your card is complete
