Lovely Princesses

Hi, Janja is here with you.
For today, I prepared a quite simple birthday card. To create my card I used lovely princesses from Magical Fantasy release.

- CottageCutz dies: Princess Dress-Up, Little Princess & Roses, Horse & Carriage
- white card base: 5.3 x 5.3" (13,5 x 13,5 cm), folded
- patterned paper: 5 x 5" (12,7 x 12,7 cm)
- glitter paper
- colored cardstock
- colored ink pads
- glue, double-sided adhesive tape, self-adhesive foam pads

Die-cut the princesses and roses from different colors of cardstock. Die-cut the carriage from white glitter paper.
Add the shading on the edges with ink pads.

Prepare a white card base. Trim a patterned paper and golden glitter paper. Attach them to the card front.

Now attach all the cutouts to the background with self-adhesive pads and glue as shown.

I hope you like it.
Have a nice day.

Little Princess

Hi!

It's Anja here. I made another card using new Magical Fantasy Designs. I combined it with a few older dies and made a card for a little princess.

For this card I used:
- Cottage Cutz dies (Little Princess & Roses, Princess Dress-Up, Springtime Window, Ivy, Dogwood Branch),
- Distress Inks (Pumice Stone, Vintage Photo, Mustard Seed, Spun Sugar, Peeled Paint, Worn Lipstick, Mowed Lawn, Tattered Rose, Shabby Shutters),
- white card base (21x10 cm),
- white card stock for die cuts and background,
- grey card stock for background,
- bricks embossing folder,
- white pigment ink,
- gold pigment ink,
- black pen,
- cutting knife,
- paper glue.

First I cut and colored the window.

Next I cut and colored the sentiment.

Then the flowers and the princess.

And last ivy leaves ...

... and two branches with flowers.

Next was the background. I cut and embossed two pieces of grey paper (10x3,5 cm). I used white pigment ink to color the bricks.

Next I cut and embossed white piece of paper (10x14 cm). I cut a square out of it using a cutting knife.

And when I had everything cut  and colored I arranged all the pieces and glued it on the card base. And my card was made.

This is all from me for today.

Have a nice Sunday.

Anja Z.

The Frog Prince

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Saturday edition of the Blog.

We have a new release of dies in our online store. If you haven't seen the Magical Fantasy release yet, you have to drop by the store and check it out. These new dies are all so cute and whimsical. There are 27 new designs and I am in love with everyone of them.

The new dies are currently 25% off and in honor of National Scrapbook Day there is also a 60% off sale on select CottageCutz dies.

Today, I am featuring the Frog Prince die. I got my inspiration from the book of the same name that my 8 year old granddaughter just read. She likes it when I send her a card that is similar to the book that she just read. She saves them all. So this one will make her laugh. Let's get started with the details on how I created the card.

Step 1: As I have said so many times before, having a layout in mind at the start of my card is always a big boost for me. It jump starts my creative thought process. I love working with the sketches that are out there in the online world. That way I just choose the colors and designer paper and I am good to go.
I liked this week's sketch #748 from Splitcoaststampers. I knew the slightly off center panel would work for my main frog image and also allow my designer paper to be seen.
lovely lipstick card base: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
designer paper layer: 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"
image panel: 3rd largest wonky rectangle die & 4th largest rectangle die
I cut my frog prince and layered him on a white background. I sponged some clouds and a little green slope and attached him with dimensional adhesive.
The 3 little frogs are from the Garden Gnomes 1 stamp & die combo. I colored them with alcohol markers and used the die to cut them out.
I stamped my sentiment on white cardstock and used a corner rounder on the corners. For the layering panel I used the 2nd largest of the stitched rounded rectangle die.
Step 2: All my elements are cut and stamped, I an ready for  the card assembly. I attached the designer paper to the card base with double sided tape.
The image panel is also attached with double sided tape. I moved it a little more to the left to accommodate the other frog images.
The little frogs are attached with dimensional adhesive. I tuned one on his head just to make him a little silly.
To finish off my card I attached the sentiment with double sided tape. That's it for me for this week. I hope I have given you an idea for using the Frog Prince die. See you next Saturday!

Sending a Thousand Hugs

Happy Friday!  It's Jeanne today with a card that could be for Mother's Day or any occasion where you'd like to say "you're special."   I decided to use the layout from this week's sketch challenge on Splitcoaststampers.
The focal image is the bunny from Carrot Patch Bunny. It also uses the flower from Sending Hugs Bear and Spring Grass.  I first cut all the pieces from white card stock which I then colored using blending tools and ink.
I originally planned to use just Distress Oxide ink and did so for the bunny - Pumice Stone for him and Tattered Rose for his ears.  However, I found that I had some regular dye inks that matched the patterned paper I planned to use so I went with those - Gumball Green, Pink Pirouette, Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo.  I used a black Copic marker to color his nose and eyes.
I cut two panels using the second and fourth largest of the Double Stitched rectangle dies from patterned paper and white.
The white panel is centered on the patterned one and the grass is glued to the very bottom.  This allowed me to slip the assembled bunny underneath so he is standing "in the grass".
I used paper snips to cut the edges of the grass flush with the panels.
Next I made an A2 card base from white card stock and added a yellow strip of washi tape.  I thought this sentiment was perfect for multiple events including Mother's Day, birthday, thank you, etc.
To finish the card the I double sided adhesive to adhere the panels and added the extra flowers to the corners.  This is the type of card that you can make to have on hand and then finish the inside to fit the occasion!
