Birthday Wishes Card

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends!  

Melinda here with you on this Fabulous Friday!  Today I am sharing another tastefully fun birthday card. It features some cool treats created with dies from the New Sweet Treats Release! Here is my card.

I started with a top folding white cardstock base. It is a standard A4 size. 4.25 x 5.5". To the base I added some cute patterned papers from Doodlebug. I also added a strip for the bottom border.

Here's closer look at the sweet and cool treats I used to adorn this card. They are from the Build An Ice Cream Cone die. I cut the pieces out of Pink, Kraft and White cardstock. I used my markers to give them some color. To the strawberry, cherry and topping on the center cone, I added some stickles to give them some extra sparkle and shine.

Here's a closer look at the sentiment. I typeset it and printed it off my computer. I added it to the smallest Nested Wacky Stitched Square  from the same set. I mounted that with some foam tape onto the colorful border at the bottom of the card.

Happy 4th

Hi everyone Happy Monday with Simply Monica!❤️  Today my card touches on the Fourth of July a touch.  I had this paper from Doodlebug forever and saw one of the images had ice cream cones so I thought how cool a Fourth full of creamy you scream I scream we all scream for ice cream!

I diecut a couple of the cones from Build an Icecream Cone in a variety of shades

Then I used distress ink in a variety of colors and sponged on some color in fun ice cream shades or at least color I felt resembles ice cream…

Then I used a sheet from the set that had text blocks and added the ice cream cones to each panel and glue them on my card front I thought it was a unique way to showcase the dies

Father's Day Ice Cream

Today for your viewing pleasure, I have created a Father's Day card using the Build An Ice Cream Cone die. This one I made for the little girl next door to give to her Daddy for Father's Day. He likes ice cream so this one is a perfect for for him.

So, let's get started with some details of how I created my card.

Design Steps:

I started by selecting my designer paper. I looked for something that had more of a masculine vibe to it. Stripes always work so I went that way. I cut the papers in the following sizes.

Red Card Base: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Blue Layering Panel: 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" 

Large White Embossed panel: 3 3/4" x 5"

Designer paper Layer: 4 1/4" x 3"

Red Scalloped Layer: 

Blue Laying Panel: 3 1/4" x2

Small white panel embossed: 3 1/8" x 1 7/8"

My ice cream cone is cut in colors that complement the designer paper. 

All my card elements are cut and ready for assembly. The layers are all attached with double sided tape. My largest white layer is an embossed panel, but it just isn't showing up well in the photo. 

Next, I attached the assembled cone image using dimensional adhesive. I stamped my sentiment in poppy red ink on vellum. I added a die cut heart to the center. 

I finished off the inside of my card by stamping a couple of sentiments and adding a strip of the designer paper and a couple of hearts.

A Rainbow of Flavors & GIVEAWAY

   One of my fondest memories as a kid was going to Thrifty's for an ice cream cone.  I can't tell you how many times I ordered Rainbow Sherbert.  The swirls of color and touch of tang always made me happy.

It's what inspired my card today, which I am sharing over on the CottageCutz YouTube Channel. For my video, I am featuring the "Build an Ice Cream Cone" die and bonus, I am also giving it away.  This die is filled with several styles of ice cream cones so you can build the cone of your dreams.  An ice cream card is a great way to send a note to let someone know you're thinking of them and would pair perfectly with a gift card to someone's favorite ice cream shop.  Who wouldn't love this sweet surprise in their mailbox?

Sweet Birthday Wishes

Today, I am using the ultimate sweet treat die Build an Ice Cream Cone.  My husband could eat ice cream everyday and after every meal! So this card is going to him for his birthday!  The only thing he would say should be different is that every scoop of ice cream has to be chocolate!!!

Design Steps:

1.  The card base is a white  4 1/4 x 6 1/4, the purple DP is 6 x 3, the ice cream DP is 6 x 2 and finally I cut a piece of white card stock with a lacy border die

2.  Glue down the purple dotted paper first and then add the ice cream paper.  Next glue down the lacy border as shown above

3.  Using the Build an Ice Cream Cone die cut out the follow colors of card stock: yellow, burnt orange, pink, yellow green, turquoise, white, red, dark brown and green

4.  Glue the pieces together as shown above using a fine tip glue

5.  Stamp the sentiment and layer with yellow, pink and turquoise card stock

6.  Pop up the cone and the sentiment pieces and your card is complete

Fun Fold Ice Cream Birthday Card

Today for your viewing pleasure I have created a birthday fun fold card. This fold is called a W-fold. I am using the new Build An Ice Cream Cone and the Ice Cream Sundae dies for my card. So let's get started with some details of how I made this card. 

Design Steps:

Since I knew the fun fold I was going to use, I selected my card base and designer papers as my first step. I looked for a fun design and decided on this one. My fold is on the left side of my card. 

Blue card base: 4 1/4" x 11" - scored at 5 1/4"

Designer paper Layer (outside) - 4" x 5 1/4"

I decided to stamp my sentiment on the card front at this point. I cut white cardstock at 1" x 1 5/8" and a blue layer at 1 1/8" x 5 1/4" and with the help of my MISTI, I stamped my "happy birthday" sentiment in blue ink to match the cardstock. Attached to card front with double sided tape.

Now onto the card inside. I added the same designer paper to the left side of the panel only. 4" x 5 1/4" for both panels. For the right side I decided to emboss a white panel for added texture. Added to the card base with double sided tape. 

Now for the card bridge. 

Cardstock is 1 3/4″ x 11″

score at 2 3/4″ x 5 1/2″, 8 1/4″. 

Fold at the 5 1/2" score line and then bring the 2 end panels over to create a rectangle.

 

I attached double sided tape to the two end panels only. The bridge center of the "W" should line up with the center of the card base and this forms the "W" fold.  

Now for the inside decorations. I cut an ice cream cone and an ice cream sundae. I layered these on coral cardstock measuring 2" x 2 3/4" and the white image panel is 1 3/4" x 2 1/2". Used double sided tape to attach. Tape is on the center of the panel only. The camera angle on this photo makes it appear that the centers don't line up. They do or card won't close properly.  

To complete my card I added an ice cream cone to the card front.

I cut another piece of white cardstock 5 1/4" x 4" and attached to back of card for a personal note and to sign my name. I could have signed the yum - delicious panel but decided to leave that as is.
