Christmas Deer Valentine Love Card Idea

Happy 1st Sunday of 2022 Scrapping Cottage friends!
Melinda here with my first Cottage Cutz project for 2022! I created this super sweet card featuring the Christmas Deer w/ Mailbox and Gingerbread Cocoa House dies.
Here's a look at my completed card. It features the sweet little Christmas Deer w/ Mailbox die and some of the elements from the Gingerbread Cocoa House die. I also used some of the Rectangle Stitched scallop dies from that set.

I started by die cutting all of my pieces in white. I then used my various markers to color in my pieces. This is by far one of my favorite techniques.

I then used my chalks to add some depth to my little deer as well as rosy up his cheeks. This is my other favorite technique for dressing up my die cuts. I love using the dies for projects outside of it's obvious use.

I then cut the second largest scallop stitched rectangle from that die set in white cardstock. I cutout a piece of Doodlebug patterned paper for a mat. I cut two of the "whipped cream" toppings from the Gingerbread Cocoa House die set. I lightly inked the edges and then added them to the bottom of my mat.

Here is a closer look at the various layers. I used several pieces from the Gingerbread Cocoa House. I even used one of their small snow pile pieces and put it on top of the mail box.

Here's another angle. You can see on the top of the small mat, I added a couple of the Gingerbread Cocoa House's Drips along the top for a border. I added several of the small hearts from that die too.

Here is one last look at my completed card. I love the super cute and very festive paper from Doodlebug. They are a perfect compliment to the adorable Christmas Deer w/ Mailbox die. I love to take pieces from various dies and use them in unexpected ways. It really helps you get more mileage out of your dies.

No Horsin' Around

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Monday edition of the Blog.

We have a brand new release of dies in the online store. It's our Circus release with 16 new designs. They are currently on sale at 25% off individual dies. The Safari release dies are also on sale at 25% off individual dies. This was our Black Friday release.

The Circus dies are so cute for Birthday, Valentine, Thinking of You or even Father's Day cards. Just let your creativity soar. The DT has been showing some great ideas & techniques for ways to use these dies. So if you missed any check back on the Blog.

Today for your viewing pleasure, I am featuring the new Prancing Pony die and I created a Valentine card in some non-traditional colors. The color challenge #828 on Splitcoaststampers gave us smoky slate, basic gray and daffodil delight for a color trio. Optional was to use something that represents movement. The Prancing Pony definitely fits that option. Also for this color challenge you have other colors that are considered neutrals and navy blue is one of them.
For the card layout I used the Splitcoaststampers sketch #837. Instead of the 3 squares in the layout, I used hearts.
I stenciled my stripes for the background using a stripes stencil and daffodil ink. For elements e & 4 of the sketch, I cut daffodil cardstock 1/2" x 7 1/2" and embossed it with a hearts folder. The "no horsin around" sentiment is computer generated.

The "be my valentine" phrase is from the 2019 "Be My Valentine Puppies" die. The large scalloped heart is from the same die. The smaller hearts are from the Hearts set.

Well, that's it for me for this post. I hope I have given you another idea for a way to use this new die. And, there is still time to get it to create a Valentine's card. See you again on Saturday!

I am using the new CottageCutz Cup of Love on my card. closer look of the card

Here is how I put it together:

1.  Card is an A2 card (4 1/4 x 5 1/2),

2.  All cut all the pieces with the colors I wanted to use on my card,

3.  I inked all the edges,

4.  I used liquid glue to put my pieces together,

5.  I embossed the base of my card,

6.  I then die cut the second to the largest die from the Cottagecutz Stitched Rounded Rectangle set,

7.  I put foam dots on the back of the heart piece,

8.  I added the coffee mugs and all the elements,

9.  I cut two stripes of paper and stamped my image on one piece,

10.  I finished my card off by adding some foam heart dots.

I am using the Puppy with Heart 4x4 die, isn't he adorable and so easy to assemble. See below on how I put my card together.

Here is how I put my card together:
1.  My card is an A2 card (41/4 x 5 1/2),
2.  The next layer is 4 x 5 1/4,
3.  The square layer is the CottageCutz Double Stitched die, the largest one, then I cut the layer out 1/8 larger,
4.  The layers at the bottom are 4 1/4 x 7/8 and then a 1/8 smaller,
5.  I cut all the elements from the Puppy with Heart and inked the edges,

6.  I assembled the dog with glue and popped her up in the center of the card with pop dots.

MY HEART IS FOR YOU

HELLO,

This is Anita here with fabulous new release from the CottageCutz . Valentine's Day is just a month away and we are all set to welcome the season of love!!!
The Valentine New Release is so awesome that you will  fall in love with them. We  also have loads of new products coming up. You can check the whole collection here. There is also the New Stamp and Die collection and these are just adorable. You can check them here.

I have used many new dies to create my Valentine's Day card. I loved the Fancy Heart die and have created a panel of three hearts on my card.

This is a very simple card, but looks very dressy because of the layers of die cuts.

Even the back of the card has been decorated . The front panel is scored on the score board to give some texture.

I have added a pattern paper to the inside panel.

I hope you liked the card. I will be bring many more inspirations in the coming days featuring the new release dies and stamps. So stay tuned.

BEE MINE

Good morning! Judy here to share with you two of my favorite things -- bees and valentines!

I love Valentine's Day -- almost more than any other holiday! It must come from my incredible love for chocolate :) The love for bee things is a little different -- I am very allergic to bee stings, but for some reason, just love the dies, stamps, and little bee knickknacks I find. As long as they aren't real, I am good with them!
I had originally started to make a typical yellow and black card using the Bumblebee Mini Die, but then I took a pink turn (which happens frequently since it's my favorite color) and made my card into a valentine instead.
The Scalloped Doily provided a fun background for my pink flower. The bees are buzzin' around to wish you an early Happy Valentine's Day~!

A Happy Hello

Hello! Judy here with my first post as a member of the CottageCutz team~!

Today I am sharing a valentine I made for my college sophomore daughter. I used Elephant Peeker, Picket Fence Border, and the Scalloped Doily for my dies.

My little elephant is a girl, so she has painted her toes pink! I hand cut the little tag, punched a hole, and added a little stamped sentiment ("a happy hello") from Stampin' Up! The ruffled ribbon and twine are from Really Reasonable Ribbon and the felt flower is by Bride's.

My daughter lives 700 miles away, so I hope this little sweet elephant brings her some sweet love and cheer in her mailbox!
