Warm Wishes Layout

Hello! This is Sukie with my guest designer post.  Today I'm sharing a single page 12x12 layout.  I used several Cottage Cutz dies on this page.
The patterned paper was the inspiration for the die cut cuts on my layout page.  I cut all of the drinks from the Cottage Cutz Coffee & Cocoa Warm Wishes and Sweet Christmas die sets.  Everything was inked on the edges for added dimension.  The mug from the Sweet Christmas set was layered on top of a circle cut from the Pierced Circle set.
I created a pocket and tucked in an ephemera die cut card.  A couple of tags cut from the Cottage Cutz Nested Stitched Scallop Rectangle set were stamped with sentiments from the My Creative Time "Do the Cocoa Motion" stamp set.  A small bow in Christmas Mint Trendy Twine was adhered to the mug.
The title and drinks were layered on a piece of paper to act as a shelf. I added a second layer of paper underneath for a pop of color.
Some Stickles were used to accent the holly berries and the candy cane for a sparkly finish.  The Stickles coordinate perfectly with the strip of red glitter paper on the base of my layout page.
To fill up some of the space at the top of my page, I layered the title at an angle above the 4x4 photo mat.
The journaling pocket was layered with the mug and the sentiment tags were tucked insides.  A few adhesive gems were sprinkled amongst the drinks.
Here are the dies used on my layout page available in the shop:

Cookies and Cocoa

Hi, Lois here with my regular Monday post.  Before I start with my card, I invite you to visit the CottageCutz store, in which you can find many of our dies on sale -- up to 70% on some.

And now my card.   Who doesn't love cookies and cocoa?  That's exactly what I've got for you today!  My card was made with several new Christmas dies from CottageCutz as well as an old one.

To start my card I cut the cookie images from some cream-colored cardstock using CottageCutz Homemade Cookies 1 and 2.

Using some Ranger Distress ink (Tea Dye and Vintage Photo) I colored the cookies and topped them with the icing pieces, which I did not color -- except for the two hearts. After they were all constructed, they looked just like gingerbread cookies!

To make the plate on which to serve the cookies, I cut two ovals (one in cream and one in green) using the 2nd largest Nested Stitched Scallop Oval . . .

. . . cutting the center out of the green oval and adhering it to the outside of the cream one.

I then placed the cookies onto the plate, gluing some of them down flat and popping some up with foam adhesive circles.

I cut the cup, cocoa, marshmallow and holly from the CottageCutz Sweet Christmas die . . .

. . . sponging the "cocoa" with Tea Dye distress ink and coloring the holly/berries with Copic markers.

I then cut my cardstock as follows:

Cream - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
Red - 5 1/4" x 4"
Plaid patterned paper - 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"

It was then just a matter of constructing the card base, adding the cookie plate and cup of cocoa.  I then stamped an appropriate sentiment and punched it out, attaching it at the top -- and my card was complete.

Christmas Release Design Team Samples (Part 1)

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit today. We are sampling DT cards from the new 2018 Christmas release. There are 29 new designs in this release and it's just Part 1 of what we will be releasing for Christmas. And, they are currently 25% off for a limited time.

We have had a good response when we do a group post on a release. It gives you the opportunity to see more card samples from the Design Team. So we are continuing that again for this release. We have 4 samples for your viewing pleasure today.

Card 1:  This first sample is from Jeanne Knobbe. She used the Santa Hat Cat and the Christmas Tag Toppers dies to create her card in traditional Christmas colors. The striped patterned paper and image panel placed on an angle give it that extra flair.
Looks like the Santa Hat Cat is temporarily out of stock. But check back on that one soon. How cute would this card be for the cat lover that we all know. The tag toppers are a great way to add your greeting to a card. This design would be so easy to reproduce if you want to send several of these.
Card 2:  This next sample is from Lois Bak. She is great at creating such fun folds and this one doesn't disappoint. She used the Teapot Snowman and Sweet Christmas dies to create this super cute side step card. This card would be perfect for the tea lover or even the friend we all have who loves to bake.
Card 3: This next sample is another one from Lois Bak. On this card she used the new Swirly Tree with Stars  and Merry Christmas Tree Phrase dies. Love how she took her patterned paper strips and created a sunburst for such a unique and different Christmas card.
Card 4: Our last sample today is from Pam MacKay. She used the sweet Hugging Penguins and Christmas Tag Toppers dies to create this precious Christmas card. Her embossed background and patterned paper just add to the charm of this card. Notice how she created her image panel? She used the pierced rectangle die to cut her background and snowbank. It's a creative idea.

I hope the samples shown today have sparked some ideas for ways to use these new dies.  And, remember they are currently 25% off in the online store.
