Good Vibes and Hugs

Good Monday morning!  It's Jeanne today with a card that goes back to the 60s using the new Beach and Tropical dies.  I just couldn't resist using the Surfer Van die with this stamp that says "Good Vibes"! They just naturally went together!
Growing up in a beach city in Southern California during the 60's I saw my fair share of surfer vans, so I tried to make this one in the colors I remembered.  And of course there had to be a peace sign!

The sentiment reminded me of Beach Boys songs so I went with a 60s album cover theme for this card.  It is a 5 1/2 x5 1/2 inches and uses a patterned paper for the background sunburst.

I normally would not put three sentiments on a card but in keeping with the record theme, I wanted an album title, a group name and a song.  To me "Life is Beautiful" is the song, but I'm not sure if the group is "Hugs" or "Good Vibes Only"!

I had fun researching 60s album covers on Pinterest.  The hand drawn Good Vibes and the stitched Hugs fit right in with the era.  And I was able to find an old 45 to put in my background!  (It's from the Columbia Record Club - my dad was a member!)

I'm not sure who will get this card.  I have several music lovers in my life so I may have to make a few more!
Be sure to stop by the online store where the Beach and Tropical release is on sale for a limited time!

Pink Isn't Just a Color, It's an Attitude!

Hello!  This is Sukie and today I have a new post to share for my design team day!  There's a fun new Beach & Tropical die release in the store which is showcased on my card.  All of these dies are also on sale!
I used the adorable Flamingo w/Hibiscus, the greenery is from the Sloth die set and the surfboards from the Surfer Van die set.
I created a simple background by blending a couple of different colors of Oxide Inks and bit of water. The bottom portion of my card was also splattered with some paint to replicate a sandy beach.
The adorable flamingo was placed on my card striking a contrast against the pop of color on the background.
The bold and fabulous surfboards were tucked into the sand and accented with the tropical palm die cuts.
The sweet sentiment was stamped on some inked up card stock and was the perfect addition to this card.  I embellished the sentiment tag with a few more tropical palms and a tiny flower.
Here is my final card, a fun tropical scene!  This card definitely showcases my love of flamingos!
Here are the die sets used on my card, available in the store
