Hello from the Spring Kitten

Hello CottageCutz friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Saturday edition of the Blog.

The Spring Release with 20 new designs is in the online store. There is a nice combination of both religious and whimsical designs. So perfect for all card makers out there.

And there is still plenty of time to order and get them for your Easter cardmaking. Today for your viewing pleasure, I have a card featuring the new Spring Kitten w/Envelope die.

Instead of using it for a Spring or Easter card I created a thinking of you card. I will send this one off to my friend who lives in another state, and I haven't seen her since the pandemic started. Hopefully that will change soon.

Design Steps:

Since I knew the type of card I wanted to make and the die I was going to use, I just needed to select the card and image colors. I looked through my designer papers and I found an envelope with some nice shading on it. It was too nice to use as an envelope to send in the mail and then throw away. So, I cut the envelope apart and used it for my card background. I am also using a papaya ribbon for an accent on my card.

Papaya Card Base - 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Designer Paper Layer - 4" x 5 1/4"
I cut the envelope, tulips and kitten in colors that coordinated with the papaya shade color I was using.
I cut the hello phrase from the Hello w/Shadow die. I used coral cardstock and sponged the shadow layer for a color variance.
Now I am ready to start card assembly. I attached the ribbon and designer paper to the card base with double sided tape.
The image and hello phrase are attached with dimensional adhesive. I scattered some enamel dots and that completed my card. I hope I have given you an idea for a different way to use this die. I will be back tomorrow with another thinking of you card using these Spring dies.

Miss Bunny Sends Hugs

Hello CottageCutz friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Saturday edition of the Blog.

IT'S NEW RELEASE TIME! The Spring Release with 20 new designs is in the online store. The individual dies are currently at 30% off. There is a nice combination of both religious and whimsical designs. So perfect for all card makers out there.

And the dies don't have to be used strictly for Spring or Easter. The team has done Valentine, Birthday and Thinking of You cards with these new dies. Take a look back on the Blog for lots of ideas.

And because it's President's Day weekend, we have a sale going on with up to 60% off selected dies. So, check out the store early for best selections.

Today, I have for your viewing pleasure a whimsical card for Easter featuring the new Miss Spring Bunny die. So, let's get started with some details on how I created my card.

Design Steps:

I decided to make a fun fold card for today's post. This fold is called a center step. I bought these precut cardstock panels at my local stamp store. I felt it was a bonus when I spotted them.  But I will give a link that shows how to cut this particular fold. Here is a link to a Splitcoaststampers tutorial- there are photos as well as a YouTube video.

I cut blue and green ombre designer paper for the center and side panels and layered with the coordinating cardstock. The center panel is 4 3/8" x 3 1/4" and the side panels are 1" x 4 3/8".
I attached the panels to the card base with double sided tape.
I cut my bunny image with various colors of cardstock. I used colors that would coordinate with the designer paper panels and also project a spring vibe.
Next, I stamped my sentiment in a grape ink. It was a bit tricky because the panel was already attached and I didn't want to remove it.

My stamp is a red rubber wood base, so I had to use my stamp-a-ma-jig for alignment. When I use this method, I only get one shot at inking because I can never line it up straight again. It didn't stamp quite as dark as I wanted but I think it's ok.
I attached my bunny image with glue dots and double-sided tape.
I decided to add a hugs phrase on the image panel. I used the Hugs w/Shadow die. Then for the side panels I added some tulips. I cut them from the Spring Kitten w/Envelope die in a light purple cardstock.
I finished off my card by scattering a few butterflies and adding a few hearts on the sentiment panel.   And that's my card for this week. I hope I have given you a way to use this ever so cute little bunny. See you next Saturday!!

Slimline Shaker

Hi, everyone it seems like the weekends go by so quickly as Monday is here again.  Today I am sharing a slimline window shaker card with two of the new release from the January 2022 release!  Peekers Bunny w/Pocket and Spring Kitten w/Envelope how cute?!!
CARD

1.  I took the slimline window die and cut it using patterned paper.  I couldn't decide between red and teal so I actually cut it out twice
2.  I then cut two layers of the window using foam so that I could add height for my shaker window.  I added some acetate for the window and then adhered all the layers together

3.  I used some flock paper I had to cut out the bunny and cat to make them more life-like or give them a better look of fur and I love how it turned out.

I glued all the layers together and added some sequins to my shaker window to complete the look of my card and I hope everyone enjoyed my shaker card and see you next Monday same time same place!

Valentine Kitten

 Hello Scrapping Cottage Friends

GUESS WHAT???  We have a new Spring release with 20 sweet designs.  The bundle for the entire release is at 60% off right now.  Just check it out HERE.

I am using the Spring Kitten with Envelope.  I decided to make a slimline and pair the kitten with the Whimsical Hearts slimline die.

Design Steps:

1.  Using the Spring Kitten with Envelope cut out the pieces using: red, light grey, dark grey, pink, green and black card stock

2.  Assemble the pieces using a fine tip glue

3.  For the base use a piece of black card stock cut at 8 1/2 x 7 folded in half.  A piece of checked DP cut at 3 1/4 x 6 3/4. A piece of white card stock cut with the Whimsical Hearts Slimline die. A piece of black card stock cut with the largest Stitched Heart die. And finally a piece of satin ribbon cut at 11 inches

4.  Glue the checked DP to the back of the heart slimline.  Tie the ribbon into a square knot and tape it to the back of the white heart card stock then glue to the black card base.  Glue the black heart as shown above

5.  Pop up the kitten in the envelope to the front of the card just above the square knot

6.  Add the little bee, the sentiment and rhinestones and your card is complete
