Colorful Tri-Shutter Card

Hi, Lois here today with a card full of bright sunny colors -- and lots of folds!   Yellow/orange/lime green is such a happy color combination.   I used a die/stamp set and several other dies from CottageCutz.

Supplies used on today's card are:

Yellow cardstock - 12 x 5 1/2"
Lime green for the mats
Patterned paper for the panels
Scraps of orange and black for the sentiment and butterfly
Copic markers
Scor-Pal
Foam pop dots
CottageCutz dies - Marigolds - October (stamp/die set), Happy, Birthday, Double-stitched Ovals, Spring Butterfly 1

Cut the yellow cardstock  to 12" x 5 1/2" and score on the 2", 4", 8", and 10" marks.

Place the panel in your paper cutter with the long edge at the 1 1/2" mark.  Cut a slit from the 2" scoreline to the 10" scoreline.  Rotate 180 degrees and cut the same way on the other side.

Fold on the scorelines  as shown in the photo.

I used the card base and traced around the end T-shape section and cut a template.  I then cut 1/16" around the edge to make a template for the mat piece, and again another 1/16" to make a template for the patterned paper piece.

Cut the mat  and patterned paper pieces as follows:

Lime green - 4 pieces 1 3/8" x 1 7/8", 2 pieces 1 3/8" x 3 7/8", 1 piece 2 3/8" x 3 7/8", and two pieces using the larger of the two T-shaped templates.

Patterned paper - 4 pieces 1 1/4" x 1 3/4", 2 pieces 1 1/4" x 3 3/4", 1 piece 2 1/4" x 3 3/4", two pieces using the smaller of the two T-shaped templates.

Layer and adhere the patterned paper to the lime green pieces.  Adhere to the card base, as shown.

Stamp and color the marigolds onto white cardstock and then cut all the die-cut pieces.

Apply the die-cut pieces to your card, and you're finished.

This is such a fun card to make.  I hope you'll give it a try.

Easter Eggs

Hi!

It's Anja here. We're one week away from Easter and it's time to make some Easter decorations. I decided to decorate some plastic eggs.

I used:
- Cottage Cutz Dies (Spring Butterfly 1, 3D Flower #7, Spring Greenery),
- colored card stock,
- Distress Inks (Seedless Preserves, Peeled Paint, Forest Moss),
- tools for making 3d flowers,
- flower stamens,
- plastic eggs,
- glue,
- purple acrylic paint,
- brush,
- purple ribbon,
- glitter

First I colored plastic eggs with acrylic paint and sprinkled them with glitter while they were still wet. I let them dry.

I die cut some greenery from green card stock and butterflies and flowers from light violet card stock. I cut only the tree smallest flowers from the flowers die. I used Distress Inks to color the edges of the die cuts.

Then I used tools to make 3d effects and assembled the flowers and butterflies. I put stamens in the middle of the flowers.

When the eggs were dry I hanged it with some purple ribbon. Then I put all the leaves around the top of the eggs. In the end I added the butterfly on one egg and two flowers on the other egg.

Have a nice Sunday.

Gift set of cards in a folder

Hi, Janja here!

Gift set of cards in a folder which I share with you today are created with new CottageCutz dies - Spring.

CottageCutz dies: doodle bugs, spring butterfly 1, spring butterfly 2, spring butterfly 3, spring foliage border, stitched square set or pierced square set

For the folder we need:
- white cardstock for the cover: 11.4 x 5.3" (29 x 13,5 cm)
- white cardstock for the insert: 11 x 5.3" (28 x 13,5 cm)
- patterned paper: 5.2 x 5.2" (13,3 x 13,3 cm)
- white and colored cardstock

Trim white cardstock for the cover and insert sheet. Fold them on:
- 5.3" and 6.1" (13,5 cm and 15,5 cm)
- 5.3" and 5.7" (13,5 cm and 14,5 cm)

Trim four pockets from white cardstock in the size of 6.3 x 3" (16 x 7,5 cm). Made the folds 0.6" (1,5 cm) from left, right, and from the bottom edge.
Glue patterned paper on pockets, which should be slightly smaller then the size of the pocket.

On each of four pockets glue spring foliage border.

Glue the cover and the insert sheet in each other.

Make a tab in the size of 5.5 x 1" (14 x 2,4 cm). Fold cardstock at 2.4" and 3.2" (6 cm and 8 cm).

Insert two magnets under a patterned paper, which hold a tab in place, when the folder is closed.

Decorate the front cover and attach it to the base.

Supplies for cards:
- white card base: 4.7 x 4.7" (12 x 12 cm)
- colored cardstock: 3.7 x 3.7" (9,5 x 9,5 cm)
- white nad colored cardstock
- Memento ink: Lady Bug, Bamboo Leaves, Tangelo, Dandelion

Prepare four card bases and trim squares from colored cardstock.
Cut out squares with the largest die from white cardstock. Stamp various sentiments on them.

Cut out butterflies.

In addition to sentiments do some smudges. We can use a brush, stamp or ink smooshing technique. Whichever you prefer.
Select colors that match the color of butterflies.
Assemble the cards.

Insert cards into pockets.

That's all for today. I hope you like it.
