U Rock!

Hi!

It's Anja here. I have fishing card for you today. I played with different dies to create this idyllic scene.

For this card I used:
- Cottage Cutz dies (Fishing Pole & Boat, Fishing Gear, Snowcapped Mountains, Snowy Tree, Rustic Sign & Trees, Woodland Cabin),
- Distress Inks,
- craft card stock (15x15 cm),
- white card stock for die cuts and background (14,5x14,5 cm),
- silver pigment ink,
- black pigment ink,
-  colored pencils (blue, light brown, dark brown),
-  sentiment stamp,
- scissors,
- paper glue.

First I cut and colored the boat and the fishing pole.

Next the fishing gear.

Then I cut and colored all the trees and the mountains.

And after that I started on the background. I sketched around the arranged die cuts and then colored the lake and the ground around. I used colored pencils to emphasize the edge of the lake.

Last I stamped the sentiment and cut it with the scissors.

And my card was done.

And that is all from me for today. I also invite you to The Scrapping Cottage online store to check out the new Christmas release.

Have a nice Sunday and see you again next week.

Cabin in the Woods

Hi!

It's Anja here. Today I have a nature themed card for you. I made a scenery using the cabin and mushrooms die. A card is a bit different than usually because it has a window.

To make this card you will need:
- Cottage Cutz dies (Woodland Cabin, Mushrooms & Greenery, Snowcapped Mountains, Stitched Rounded Square Set),
- Distress Inks (Peeled Paint, Black Soot, Forest Moss, Fired Brick, Barn Door, Pumice Stone, Stormy Sky, Pine Needles, Shabby Shutters, Antique Linen),
- Distress Oxides (Pumice Stone, Vintage Photo, Fossilized Amber, Walnut Stain),
- white pigment ink,
- craft card base (15x10,5 cm),
- white paper (14,5x10 cm),
- white card stock for die cuts,
- white pen,
- paper glue.

First I die cut a rounded square shape window in to the card base. I also made a white frame using two of the largest stitched rounded squares.

I colored all the pieces with combination of Distress Inks and Distress Oxides. I used small make up pads to color the little pieces of the cabin.

For the background I used blue and grey and spritzed with a bit of water.

And then I just glued all the pieces together.

Don't forget to check out the new wedding and nested shapes dies in the store. I will start showing my projects using the new dies very soon.

Have a beautiful Sunday.

Toys for boys

Hi, Janja here!

For today's post, I prepared another children's card. This time for the boys.
Let's see how it is made.

Supplies:
- CottageCutz dies: Choo Choo Train, Toy Helicopter mini, Snowcapped Mountains
- white card base: 6 x 4.5" (15 x 11,5 cm), folded
- gray cardstock: 5.5 x 4.2" (14 x 10,7 cm)
- white cardstock: 5.2 x 4" (13,3 x 10,1 cm)
- white and colored cardstock
- Distress inks: Broken China, Twisted Citron, Vintage Photo, Hickory Smoke
- stencil and stencil brushes

Cut out all the elements for train and helicopter. Distress them on the edges with Distress inks, and glue together.

Trim white cardstock for background. At the bottom, create mounds with stencil, Vintage Photo Distress ink and brush. Color the rest of cardstock with Distress inks Twisted Citron and Broken China.
Cut out also mountains, and cover peaks with snow.

Assemble the card.

Thank you for coming over and have a nice day.

Let's Go Camping!

Hi, Lois here today with a fun fold card.  I have to admit that I'm not much of a camper.   I do remember one summer when I was a kid, we went to the Pocono Mountains for a week; but "camped" in a cabin -- not a tent.  With that said, I have a gatefold card for you today -- using several of the dies from the "Camping" release from CottageCutz.

Supplies for this card are:

Gold cardstock - 5 1/2" x 11" scored at 2 3/4" and 8 1/4"
White cardstock - 2 pieces 5 1/4" x 2 1/2", 1 piece 5 1/4" square
Various scrap pieces of colored cardstock - green, red, pale blue, green, silver, yellow, tan, orange
Distress ink - green, orange, brown
Patterned paper - grass, sky, sand, macadam
Double-sided tape and tape runner

I started by cutting out the pieces for the Jeep and Trailer and constructing each one.  I used double sided tape for the smaller pieces to make it easier to adhere them to the base pieces.

Then I made the scene by cutting the patterned paper and adhering it to the two white panels, which I then glued to the front panel.  I created my scene by adding the jeep and trailer as well as some trees, the mountains, and the sun.

The fun part of a gatefold card is when you open the panels to the inside.

Using several of the accessory dies in the Camping release, I created a fun campsite.
