Fall Leaves

Hello CottageCutz friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Saturday edition of the Blog.

Our new Folk Art release is still available in the online store at 35% off individual dies. There are 19 new designs that are so perfect for cardmaking, journaling, and scrapbooking.

In fact, all of the releases from 2023 through Halloween of 2022 are currently on sale. Check them out here if you want to pick up any that you may have missed and still want. The sale won't be on long.

Since we are coming into my favorite time of the year, I decided to make a Thanksgiving card using the beautiful colors of Fall. The die is an older one from the 2018 collection "Stitched Leaves"

For my leaves, I first die-cut the leaves from Bristol smooth cardstock and then ink blended barn door and fossilized amber distress inks. I pressed them in Ranger Perfect Medium and then used clear embossing powder with my heat tool. This technique makes the leaves really pop. Although my camera isn't picking up all the shine that's on the leaves.
My background paper is from a kit I had in my stash.  I really like the color washed background. I layered it on a crumb cake (kraft) panel then crushed curry and my card base is the poppy parade.

Card Base: 4" x 5 3/8"
Curry Layer: 3 3/4" x 5 1/4"
Kraft Layer: 3 5/8" x 5 1/8"
Image Panel: 3 1/2" x 5"
Next, I stamped my sentiment. I stamped in chocolate chip ink.
Now that my card elements are prepared, I am ready to start card assembly. I attached all the layers first with double sided tape.
I secured the leaves with double sided tape. I decided to add some other greenery using the Rustic Wreath die.
To finish off my card I added a pinecone and a couple of acorns and scattered a few curry enamel dots. I also added more leaf greenery to the bottom leaf.

That's it for me for this week. See you next Saturday.

Joy to the World

Hello Scrapping Cottage Friends

It is Pam sharing with you today!

We are only a few days away from Christmas and I have another card for you today.  This one is a bit more country.  I used the Rustic Wreath and a great Christmas plaid for the design.

Design Steps:

1.  Use the Rustic Wreath die and cut out the following colors of card stock: dark brown, light brown, deep red, red, light red, pinkish red, yellow, dark green, green, light gray and dark gray.  After cutting the pieces assemble with a fine tip glue.  Dot the birds eye with a black gel pen
2.  Layer the pieces onto the wreath and adhere with a fine tip glue once you are satisfied with your design

3.  Use a kraft A2 card base, deep red 4 1/8 x 5 3/8, plaid DP 4 x 5 1/4, an embossed piece of kraft cut with a dove tail 4 1/2 x 2 1/2 (I layered the kraft piece with gold card stock which is not shown)

4.  Glue down the deep red to the kraft card base, next adhere the plaid and then add the gold and kraft dove tail piece all glued flat

5.  Glue down the wreath and then using the Joy Expression die cut it out of deep red.  Stamp your sentiment on kraft and layered it on deep red.  Glue the stamped sentiment down and then glue down the word Joy. To complete the card add a small raffia bow under the wreath

Peace and Joy Rustic Wreath

Hello CottageCutz friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Sunday edition of the Blog.

It's new Christmas release time!!! We have new dies in the online store. Our Christmas Part 2 release with 36 new designs is available and ready for shipment.

The individual dies are on sale for 30% off. It's only for a limited time so don't delay. You are going to love all the whimsical designs that are available in this release. There is something for everyone to make your Christmas cards extra special this year.

The Christmas Part 1 dies are also available with 21 new designs and on sale for 30% off individual dies.

Today, I am featuring the new Rustic Wreath and Peace and Joy Wreath dies. They are both part of the Christmas Part 2 release.

I used the colors from the Splitcoaststampers color challenge #920 for the wreath colors. An option this week was to add a 4th color. I chose blue for my bird image.
merry merlot, polished pink, garden green

The grapevine wreath image is cut in kraft cardstock, and I sponged tea dye distress ink for shading. I used brick wall designer paper for the background. You can use neutral shades in this color challenge.

The Peace and Joy phrase is from the Peace and Joy Wreath die. I cut it in the merlot cardstock 2x for more definition.
To finish off the card I scattered a few garden green glitter enamel dots. Well, that's it for me for this post. See you next Saturday.
