DT Samples- Spring Day 5

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Happy Friday to you! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit today. We are sampling DT cards using dies from the new Spring dies release.

They are in the online store and 25% off for a limited time. There are 27 new dies in the release and each one is cuter than the next. They will be perfect for your Easter and Spring card making.

We thought you might like to have some new and creative ideas for your Easter or Spring cards using these new dies. The cards today are both in a whimsical style. So let's get started with some details on the cards for today.

Card 1:  Our first sample today is from Jeanne Knobbe. She used the new Spring Frogs die to create her card. We get an extra day this month and it will be Saturday, February 29.  This only happens every 4 years. How often have you said "if only I had another day". Well now you do and Jeanne is celebrating that extra day.

The frog, lily pad and cattails are cut from white cardstock and colored with Distress Oxide inks.  The "water" behind the frog is a patterned paper as is the green background.

For the sentiment, she stamped the "happy phrase" from a birthday sentiment set and then created the "leap day" using a small wood mount alphabet set. She stamped each letter at an angle for added interest and the up and down stamping adds to the leap theme.

Card 2: Our next card for today is from Anja Zurga. She used the new Rooster & Chick die to create this cute outdoor scene. It could be used for a variety of card giving occasions. Think about - thank you, thinking of you, get well or even a Father's Day card. If you changed the sentiment it could be Mother's Day or a birthday card.

The images are cut in white cardstock and then colored with distress inks. The rise and shine phrase is from the die of the same name.

Well, that's our samples for today. I hope the team has given you some fresh ideas on ways to use these new Spring dies. We will be back again tomorrow with our final day of group posts. And, if you are thinking of getting any of these new dies, they are on sale for a limited time in the online store.

Rise & Shine

Hi!

It's Anja here. I have a simple card for you today. I used one of the new dies and one of the older ones. They go together so well.

For this card I used:
- Cottage Cutz dies (Barn & Windmill, Rise & Shine Phrase),
- Distress Inks (Pumice Stone, Scattered Straw, Walnut Stain, Peeled Paint, Black Soot, Barn Door, Fired Brick, Aged Mahogany),
- craft card base (12,5x18 cm),
- red card stock for background (11,5x16,5 cm),
- watercolor paper for background (10,5x16 cm),
- white card stock for die cuts,
- gold pigment ink,
- paper glue.

First I cut the barn and colored it.

Then I cut the sentiment and colored it with gold ink.

Then I made the background.

And when I had all the pieces I glued everything together. And this is my finished card.

Have a great Sunday and see you again next week.

Anja Z.

CAS - Rise & Shine Hello!

Hello crafty friends! It’s Janet here to share with you a CAS (Clean & Simple) card featuring dies from the new Rise & Shine Collection and the Spring Collection. Before I forget, did you know that the Rise & Shine Collection is on sale for 25% off? Here’s the link to check out all the great breakfast and food related dies in this release: Rise & Shine Collection

So back to my card. When I first saw the Rise & Shine Collection, I was immediately attracted to the strong and colorful graphic in the Rise & Shine Phrase die. It’s big, it’s bold and it’s such a beautiful classic graphic image. I have used it today to make a hello card that will tell someone special I’m thinking about them. Since it has a farm theme, I kept the colors simple: green, craft, white, blue, red, with highlights of yellow and orange. I found that the Oval Doily and Frame die was a perfect backdrop to the die. Inside, I used the craft doily portion as the mat for the wonderful one cut Butterfly Hello die.

Today’s video is a short tutorial to show you how this card is made. I hope you’ll visit and let me know what you think. Just click on the thumbnail below or on this direct link to watch: Video Link

Thanks for checking out today’s project. It’s always fun to be here with you.

So many cute breakfast and made with love themed dies. The design team has put together some cute samples to give you some ideas on how to use these dies. We showed some samples last Tuesday- click here to see those.

So let's get started with the samples for today.

Card 1: This first sample is a card from Janja Albreht. She used the Skillet w/Eggs & Breakfast Plate dies to create a beautiful invitation to brunch. The food looks delicious - anyone want to hop on a plane to Slovenia and surprise her for brunch?
Card 2: Our next sample is a card from Lois Bak. She used the pastry goodies & made with love phrase dies and created a cute cherry pie card. ,How perfect would this be for when you do some special baking for gift giving.
Card 3: Our next sample is a card from Jeanne Knobbe. She used the Rise & Shine Phrase die and stenciled a beautiful sunrise background to compliment the images. This card could be used for a variety of occasions such as birthday, thinking of you and even an encouragement card.
Card 4: Our next sample is a card from Pam MacKay. She used the Kitchen Chef dies to create a really cute card. This one could be used for a homemade goodie gift. Or by simply changing the sentiment as a Mothers Day card or a way to congratulate someone who is taking their first cooking class, or a thinking of you for someone who loves to cook. Lots of options with this die.

That's the samples for this week. I will have another set to show on Tuesday, March 27th. Hope these samples have sparked some ideas in ways you could use these dies. They are currently 25% off for a limited time in the online store.

So let's get started with the samples for today.

Card 1: This first sample is a card from Lois Bak. I love how the card looks the breakfast plate is sitting on a checked table cloth. Reminds me of going to a diner for breakfast - so cute. She used the Breakfast Plate, Coffee & Donuts  and Rise & Shine Phrase.

Card 2: This next sample is a card from Pam MacKay. She carried her theme through with the coffee themed designer paper. She used the Coffee & Donuts and the Sweet Phrase dies.
Card 3: This next sample is from Jeanne Knobbe. She used the Yogurt & Fruit dies to create a beautiful thank you card. She colored the images with her Copic Markers. Love how her sentiment ties back to the bowl of fruit.

Card 4:  This next sample is from Janet Axtman. She used the uber cute Pancake & Waffle die to create a thinking of you style card. She accented her sentiment with a muffin from the Pastry Goodies dies.
Project 5:  The final project for this week comes from our guest designer Sherry Wolfe. She created a recipe card using the Pastry Goodies dies. She is making a recipe book for her son and this will be a part of it. She used the Made with Love die for her book title page.

That's the samples for this week. I will have another set to show next Tuesday. Hope these samples have sparked your creativity. The dies are currently 25% off for a limited time in the online store.
