Peeking Pup!

Hello My Scrapping Cottage Friends!

Today,  I have a sweet pup just peeking out of a lovely garden cart!  I decided to make it into a thank you card but it could easily be a birthday, just because or a hello card!

Background Photo by Joe Woods on Unsplash

Design Steps:

 1.  Using white card stock and the Puppy in Garden Cart die cut out all of the pieces.  I did use a piece of red polka dot DP and recut the umbrella pieces
2.  Using Tim Holtz inks and a small sponge applicator color and shade all of the pieces.  Next assemble them using a fine tip glue
 3.  Use a white A2 card base, a piece of red card stock cut 4 x 5 1/4, a piece of polka dot blue DP cut with a Stitched Scallop Square and a piece of green card stock cut with the Spring Grass die
4.  Attach the ribbon toward the bottom of the red card stock and add your sentiment
5.  Next add the grass to the bottom of the polka dot blue scallop square.  And then glue your garden card to the square as shown.  Pop the blue square to the red panel just above the ribbon and then attach to the white card base.  Lastly add the tiny black rhinestones to the pup's eyes and some tiny red rhinestones to the yellow flowers and your card is complete

Beach Huts

Hi Janja here with you. Welcome to the blog today.
In the beginning, I intended to prepare a greeting card on the topic of gardening.
However, since summer is almost here, I changed my mind and turned the garden shed into a beach hut.

- CottageCutz dies: Potting Shed, Puppy in Garden Cart (parasol), Fairytale Castle (flags), Camping Trailer (flags garland), Seagull (sand dunes)
- blank card: 5 7/8" x 5 7/8" (15 x 15 cm)
- white cardstock: 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" (14 x 14 cm)
- patterned papers
- different colors of brush markers
- different colors of ink pads
- glue, double-sided adhesive tape, self-adhesive foam pads

Cut the beach huts out of striped papers. Also cut out three parasols.

Use white cardstock for the background. Shade it with different colors of ink pads. For a sandy beach, use a stamp or simply add dots with a marker.

Now attach all the elements to the prepared background with glue and self-adhesive foam pads as shown. Attach the parasols to small sand dunes.

Thank you for stopping by.

Puppy Hugs

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Saturday edition of the Blog.

We have a brand new release of dies in the online store. This one is garden themed and has 19 new designs. These new dies are perfect for Mother's Day, Father's Day, birthdays, thank you, or even a thinking of you card for the person who loves to garden.

For my card today, I am featuring the new Puppy in Garden Cart die and created a thinking of you card for one of my dog loving friends. This one could even be used for a birthday card with a birthday sentiment on the inside. So let's get started with some details on how I created my card.

Design Steps:

I started this card with my sketch. I had one saved on my Pinterest board that I thought would work well with this die image. It calls for a square shape that I also liked. It changes things up just a bit.
Once the layout was decided on I chose my card colors. I decided to go with a medium blue shade and use the matching gingham designer paper.
Card Base: 4 1/2" Square
Gingham Designer Paper: 4 1/4" Square
I cut the images in various shades of cardstock. For the garden cart I used a brown striped designer paper for added interest.
The circle is the 2nd largest from the Stitched Circle set. I used a cloud stencil to sponge in some background clouds with tumbled glass distress ink. Sponged some mowed grass distress ink at the bottom of circle for a grassy area.
The "Big Hugs" sentiment  is stamped in a dark blue ink.
Now that everything is cut and stamped, I am ready for card assembly. Started by attaching the images to the circle using double sided tape.
For the rectangle strip across the middle, I decided to use ribbon that matched the designer paper.
I used dimensional adhesive to secure the image circle. I wanted it lifted slightly off the designer paper. The side leaves are cut from the Planter Box & Seeds die.
To complete my card, I attached the image panel to the card base. Scattered a few blue glitter enamel dots - just because I like using them on a card (lol)!!

Well, that's it for me for this week. I will be back on Monday with a Father's Day card using the new Potting Shed die.

Puppy in a Garden Cart

Hi Janja here. Welcome to the blog.
Today, I want to share with you a card with a cute puppy in a garden cart.

- CottageCutz dies: Puppy in Garden Cart, Potting Shed (potted plants), Retro Tag Toppers
- blank card: 5 5/16 x 5 5/16" (13,5 x 13,5 cm), folded
- white cardstock: 4 3/4 x 4 3/4" (12 x 12 cm)
- grey paper strip: 4 3/4 x 5/8 " (12 x 1,6 cm)
- different colors of cardstock
- different colors of ink pads
- brick wall stencil
- white texture paste
- spatula
- enamel dot
- glue, double-sided adhesive tape, self-adhesive foam pads

I used different colors of cardstock for all the cutouts and colored the edges with slightly darker ink pads.
You can also use white cardstock and then color all the cutouts with any color media.

Cut a square out of white cardstock. Then apply a white paste, stained with grey and red ink, over the brick wall stencil and let it dry.

Cut a banner out of white cardstock and stamp a sentiment.

Add a grey strip to the bottom edge of the brick wall.
Complete the card.

Thank you for stopping by.

Spring Garden

Hi!

It's Anja here. I have a garden scene for you today. I combined different dies from the latest release and made the following card.

For this card I used:
- Cottage Cutz dies (Potting Shed, Puppy in Garden Cart, Potted Plants, Garden Phrases),
- Distress Inks,
- craft card base (17,5x12 cm),
- white card stock for die cuts and background (17x11,5 cm),
- silver pigment ink,
- plastic stencil (clouds),
- black pen,
- paper glue.

First I cut and colored the shed, cart and all plants.

Next I cut and colored the sentiment.

Then I trimmed the paper for the background.

Next I colored the background. I used plastic stencil for the sky.

When I had everything colored I put the card together.

That's all from me for today. Have a nice week and see you again next Sunday.

Anja Z.
