Easter Cross

Hi!

It's Anja here. Today I made a card that can be used as an Easter card. I have this cross die for quite some time and I've been waiting to use it. So today I decorated it with spray colors and some spring flowers.

For this card I used:
- Cottage Cutz dies (Ornate Cross, Hedgehogs in Love, Iron Stand w/ Plants, Fresh Spring Floral),
- color sprays (green, pink, gold, orange),
- white card base (15x15 cm),
- watercolor paper for background (14x14 cm),
- white card stock for die cuts,
-  white foam sheet,
- paper embossing tools and surface,
- Nuvo Crystal Drops (pink, yellow),
- paper distresser,
- heat gun,
- paper glue.

First I cut the paper for background and the cross. I colored it all t once by spraying both with gold color.

Next I added green and a few drops of pink. I used heat gun to dry it.

Then I sprayed paper with green and orange. Dried the paper and then cut the flowers and the greenery.

I did colored another piece of paper using pink.

I used embossing tools to add some dimension to the flowers and leaves.

Next I cut another cross, this time using foam.

I used paper distresser for the edges of the background and card base.

When I had everything clued on the base I added Crystal Drops to the flowers. And my card was finished.

That's all from me for today. I wish you all a nice Sunday.

Two cards for Holy Confirmation

Hey, Vladka here. This time in more gentle tone :)

This is the perfect timing to make some cards for Holy Confirmation and sentiment means in Slovenian language exactly that . I always like to use pigeon as a symbol of Holy Spirit and these two cards are no exception. I didn't use a lot of colours on purpose, because I wanted clean and gentle cards for this occasion. For both cards I also made bookmarks in the same style as little additional touch for both projects.
I made little "Bible" from three layers of paper and top layer is also stamped with text. Branch and pigeon, made with Whimsy Bird & Cage die, gives to the card some freshness and colours.
The second card is more typical for Confirmation. Here I added Ornate Cross die and put pigeon together with Greenery on it.
I combined different dies for these two projects and here they are. Click on the picture will link you to the store

Have a great day!

Ornate Cross

Good morning everyone!

Hey, Vladka here again. This is my fourth post on the CottageCutz blog already.  This time with Easter theme; two cards, one main die and two dies for combination.  I really wanted to have one Cross die and with Ornate Cross I get three dies, how cool is that! :)  First card is fresher and brings a little spring on the blog :)  I combined it with tulips, which I cut out from Watering can and Tulips die.  I just love this one and here is another idea with it :)

On the second card I experimented a little bit with background and with both cross die cuts, brown and white.  To get a little color I used this beautiful wedding die Trellis and Vines and cut out vines and wrapped it around the cross.  Both cards can be also use like invitations for Baptism or Confirmation.  You just have to change the sentiments and here you go.

And here is another idea with foil.  Do you remember my last project with watering can?  Here I used two die cuts of each middle and smallest cross.  I glued it together, put the foil on and a little color.  It looks like silver and I thought it will be fun to put it on the necklace. :)  What do you think about it?

And here are all dies, which I used:

Baby Boy Baptism

Good morning!!  Happy Friday to you!!  It's a very cool and rainy Friday here, but April showers bring May flowers, right?  I sure hope so!!  I have a very special card to share with you today.  I made this card using the new Ornate Cross from the Easter release at The Scrapping Cottage.

Even though this card is very ornate, it's on the clean and simple side, too.  I made this for my sweet baby grandson, Max, who is being baptized this Sunday.  Just a little splash of blue for my baby boy to celebrate the special day.  I cut two of the crosses and layered them by popping the top cross up with foam dots.  In the center, between the layers, I used the two small crosses included on the die, with one of them done in blue.  This gave it a little pop of blue in the center, which I thought was a nice effect.  The background is embossed with a flourish embossing folder, and a little satin ribbon finished this card off.

Have a glorious weekend!!
