HoHoHo Screen Divider Card

Hello CottageCutz friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Sunday edition of the Blog.

It's new Christmas release time!!! We have new dies in the online store. Our Christmas Part 2 release with 36 new designs is available and ready for shipment. The individual dies are on sale for 30% off. It's only for a limited time so don't delay. You are going to love all the whimsical designs that are available in this release. There is something for everyone to make your Christmas cards extra special this year.

We also have Christmas Part 1 in the store and those dies are also available at 30% off.  There is a great selection of religious, whimsical and some super cute birds and animals. All of your Christmas card making ideas are covered in this release.

Today for your viewing pleasure, I am using dies from the Christmas Part 1 release - Happy Reindeer & Snowman, Snowman w/Tree and the Christmas Tree Peekers. I also used an older die- Happy Ho Ho Ho for my sentiment from the 2019 release.

I created a fun fold card called a Screen Divider. I made a card with this fold previously. Check here on this post for all the details. If you would like a video tutorial check this one from Splitcoaststampers.

I used some non-traditional colors for my card. They are from the Splitcoaststampers color challenge #914.  We were to use granny apple green, melon mambo and highland heather for the color trio. I thought I would try these non-traditional colors for a Christmas card.

I embossed the background panels with a "softly falling snow" embossing folder. On the first panel I used the Snowman w/Tree, the 2nd panel is the Christmas Tree Peekers and the 3rd panel is the Happy Reindeer & Snowman die. The "happy ho ho ho sentiment " was spread across the 3 panels.  The last panel I used for my stamped greeting.

That's it for me for this post. The team will be featuring dies from the newest Christmas Part 2 release all week so check back every day.

Group Samples -Christmas Part 2

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Happy Monday to you! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit today. We are sampling DT cards using dies from the Christmas Part 2 release.

There are 34 new designs in this release. This release has something for everyone. So if you prefer a more religious tone to your cards- we have you covered. If you like a more whimsical design featuring Santa, reindeer, gnomes, moose or even a hot chocolate theme you will find some really cute dies.

We thought you might like to have some new and creative ideas for your Christmas cards using the Part 2 dies. So let's get started with the cards for today.

Card 1:  Our first sample today is from Pam MacKay. She used the ever so cute Moose Pulling Gnome Sled to create her sweet Christmas card.  The pierced rectangle die was used as the background for her image. She created a mask for the snow and then a stipple brush to ink up her sky. Some white acrylic paint mixed with water was used for a snowy sky effect. This card would make a great Christmas card for all age groups.
Card 2: Our next sample today is from Janja Albreht. She used the Warm & Cozy Cocoa dies to create 2 amazing circular easel cards. This type of fold always has such wow appeal. Her images are mounted on burlap which just adds to the charm of her cards. This would be a great card for your coffee loving friend , or for a coffee gift card or even a winter birthday.
Photos of the easel cards when they are opened. Here is a link to a tutorial for circular easel cards.

Card 3:  Our last sample for today is from Jeanne Knobbe. She used the Holiday Gnomes w/Fox  & the Happy Ho Ho Ho dies to create an action wobble card. The curved panel, addition of the designer paper and the enamel dots add to the attraction of her whimsical card.
Check out this short video clip to see the cute little Gnome do a wiggle.

Well, that's our samples for today. I hope the team has given you some fresh ideas on ways to use these dies. Make sure you visit the Blog this week, we have a new release of dies coming and there will be group posts starting on Wednesday. The DT has made some awesome samples.

Pup Whishing You A Happy Ho Ho Ho

Hi!

It's Anja here. Again with another holiday card. This time in traditional red and green tones.

For this card I used:
- Cottage Cutz dies (Happy Ho Ho Ho, Holiday Pup),
- Distress Inks,
- white card base (21x10 cm),
- green cardstock for background (20,6x9,6 cm),
- patterned paper for background (20,4x9,4 cm),
- red cardstock for background (17,4x6,4 cm),
- white card stock for die cuts and background (17x6 cm),
- white foam,
- white pen,
- black pen,
- adhesive foam pads,
- paper glue.

First I cut and colored the pup and the sentiment.

Then I trimmed green card stock and patterned paper for the background.

I cut additional two rectangles for background. One from red and another from white card stock.

Next I cut another sentiment, this time from white foam. I adhered the colored sentiment on top of the foam for dimension.

And then I just put everything together and my card was done. I used adhesive foam pads to glue the pup on the base.

I wish you a nice Sunday and stress free start of the new week. See you again next Sunday.

Anja Z.

Peeking Reindeer Shaker Card

Hello Cottage Cutz fans!  It's Jeanne today with an extra post for me this week.  I have a fun shaker card using the Silly Holiday Reindeer die and Winter Window along with a new die from The Christmas Release Part 2.
I colored all the pieces using Distress Oxide inks.
For the blue sky behind the reindeer I used the negative piece created by cutting the window as a stencil.
I lightly traced the outline of the window in pencil and glued the reindeer and snowflakes within that area.
I did have to cut off the bottom of his scarf so it wouldn't be seen under the window.
To create the shaker window I cut seven windows - one from white and colored with the DO inks and the others from a brown card stock.  I layered these brown pieces and cut out the panes.  Then I placed a piece of acetate between the top window and the stacked layers.
The rest of the card went quickly.  I used the Happy Ho Ho Ho die for the sentiment and some matching green striped paper down each side.  I think it just goes perfectly for this crazy little deer peeking in the window!
