Happy Retirement

Hi! It's Janja here with you today.
All the dies from gardening release are great for making a wide variety of cards for men. My card is for retirement.

- CottageCutz dies: Gardening Tools, Lawn mower, Gardening Hat & Gloves, Shelf w/ Plants
- blank card: 4 1/4 "x 5 1/2" (10,8 x 14 cm), folded
- patterned paper: 3 1/2 "x 4 3/4" (9 x 12 cm)
- different colors of cardstock
- embossing folder – lumber
- different colors of ink pads
- glue, double-sided adhesive tape, self-adhesive foam pads

Cut out garden tools, a lawn mower, a shelf and a garden hat from colored cardstock. Shade all the pieces with colored ink pads.
I shortened the garden hat with scissors.

Trim the selected patterned paper to the size of the card base. Also cut out two rectangles. Stamp sentiment on a white strip.

For greater effect, I embossed wood-patterned paper with a 3D folder and shaded the edges with ink.

Paste the background to the front of the card with double-sided adhesive tape. Attach the other elements with self-adhesive pads and glue.

Thank you for stopping by.

Wishing You A Harvest Of Blessings

Hi!

It's Anja here. For today's post I used this adorable mouse die and made a simple card.

For this card I used:
- Cottage Cutz dies (Gardening Mouse, Gardening Hat & Gloves),
- Distress Inks,
- white card base (15x15 cm),
- white card stock for die cuts,
- silver pigment ink,
- sentiment stamp,
- acrylic block,
- scissors,
- Versafine black ink,
- black pen,
- white pen,
- brush,
- paper glue.

First I cut and colored the mouse and all the tools. I used silver pigment ink for all the metal parts of the tools.

Next I colored the hat.

The hat was too big for the mouse, so I trimmed it.

Then I did the background. I colored directly to the card base using a brush.

Then I added the sentiment.

And last I adhered the mouse and the hat. And my card was done.

Before I go I invite you to the store to check the Memorial Day Sale.

Have a great week and see you again next Sunday.

Anja Z.

Garden Sign

Hello Scrapping Cottage Friends,

It is Pam having fun with you on the blog this gorgeous Thursday!

This little sign card can be for encouragement, graduation or a just because card.  I love mixing fun papers with our wonderful Garden collection.  I am a bit of a paper hoarder so I love when I can actually use some of it.  My husband said I have enough paper and dies to last a lifetime.  But you and I know you never have enough craft supplies!
(Background Photo by Chad Madden on Unsplash)
Design
 1.  Use an A2 white card base, green card stock 4 x 5 1/4, Designer Paper 3 3/4 x 5.  Glue the green to the white card base and then glue the DP to the green
 2.  Cut out the pieces of the sign using the Garden Phrase die.  I used brown wood designer paper, pink, white and yellow card stock.  Using the Gardening Hat and Gloves die cut it out in white card stock.  Using the Spring Grass die cut it out using green card stock
 3.  Shade the pieces using a variety of Tim Holtz inks and a small applicator.  Next glue the grass to the card front then add the sign and phrase.  Assemble the hat and the gloves using a fine tip glue
6.  Last pop up the hat to the upper corner of the sign.  Then glue one glove flat to the card and pop up the other to that glove as shown.  Add the flowers and the rhinestones

Garden Border

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Saturday edition of the Blog. Hope you are doing ok in the midst of the pandemic. Since so many of us have the stay at home orders in place, it's nice to have a hobby where we can create beautiful cards. I put on some music and let my creative juices flow!!!

We have a brand new release of dies in the online store. This one is garden themed and has 19 new designs. These new dies are perfect for birthdays, Mother's Day, Father's Day or even a thinking of you card for the person who loves to garden.

For my card today, I am featuring the new Garden Border and Gardening Hat & Gloves to create a Mother's Day card. It's my first for this year, but I make a lot and send them to my family and friends. This year they will especially like the kind thoughts.  So let's get started with some details on how I created my card.

Design Steps:
This week I am using the Splitcoaststampers sketch #798 for my card layout. As soon as I saw it, I thought it would work well for both of the dies I am showcasing today.
Next, I selected my designer paper and coordinating cardstocks so I could cut the die images in matching cardstocks. The designer paper is a vellum paper. I really liked the floral motif. By layering the pink cardstock underneath it will give the appearance of a pink background.
pear pizzazz card base: 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"
pink cardstock layer: 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"
vellum floral layer: 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"

I cut the die images in pear pizzazz (light green) and the gloves in petal pink. These 2 colors are in the designer paper. The bands are cut in a fig cardstock. Also a color on the designer paper.
I started card assembly by attaching the pink cardstock to the floral vellum layer. For layer 2 of the sketch I cut a piece of fig cardstock 1 1/4" x 5 3/8". I used a subtle pink ribbon to overlay the cardstock.
I wanted a small sentiment on the front of the card. I decided to stamp directly on the watering can. With the help of my MISTI, I was able to triple stamp to get the depth of color I wanted. Used a fig ink. I will have the Happy Mother's Day sentiment on the inside of the card.
I attached the die images to the front panel with double sided tape . On the garden hat, I used dimensional adhesive to lift it slightly off the background.
To finish off my card, I secured the image panel to the card base. I added a few pink rhinestones to the flower centers.

Well, that's it for me for this week. I hope I have given you a fresh idea on a way to use both of these new dies. See you next Saturday!

New Die Release - Meow are You?

Hello!  This is Sukie and I have a sweet card to share for my design team post.  There's a brand new die release with 19 new dies as part of the Gardening Bundle which are currently on sale!
I used the Garden Cat w/Wagon and the Gardening Hat & Gloves at the focal point of my card.  I also inked up a die cut circle from the Double Stitched Oval Set.  The yellow gingham paper is from my stash and provides a cheery background for my card.
I used a combination of inks and card stock for my die cut pieces.  I found the perfect sentiment in my stamp collection from the Scrappy Moms (retired) Party Animals stamp set.
I created my card by layering the oval on top of the gingham card base.  The Garden Cat w/Wagon was nestled inside the oval.
The Gardening Hat was added as an embellishment.  The sentiment strip was snipped off into a flag and adhered as the finishing accent on my card.
Here are the dies used on my card, available in the store:
