Celebrate

Hi!

It's Anja here. I have celebration themed card for you today. I combined dies from different releases and this is the final result.

For this card I used:

- Cottage Cutz dies (Fox in Airplane, Celebrate Phrase, Clouds Slimline),

- Distress Inks,

- light blue card stock for card base (10x21 cm),

- white card stock for die cuts,

- black pen,

- white pen,

- cotton string,

- tape,

- adhesive foam pads,

- paper glue.

First I cut and colored the fox and the plane.

Next I cut the sentiment three times, glued the cuts together and then colored it.

I used clouds slimline die for clouds cuts in different sizes. First I trimmed the paper (21 cm long) and the cut the clouds. I colored the edges and then glued the cuts on top of each other. I started with the widest one.

I taped the string on the back of the plane and added adhesive foam pads to adhere the plane on the card base. I tied up the other end of the string to the sentiment and glued the sentiment on the card base. And my card was done.

Before I go I want to invite you to The Scrapping Cottage online store to check the new farm release and Memorial Day Sale.

Have a nice Sunday and see you again on next week.

AND TO CONTINUE THE PARTY WE HAVE A NEW RELEASE OF SLIMLINE DIES!  THERE ARE 9 DIES WITH A SPECIAL BUNDLE PRICE OF 52% OFF!

Today,  I am excited to share with you one of the new slimline dies called Clouds Slimline.  I combined it with one of our Spring Release dies which are also still on sale.  The die is the Fox in Airplane.

Design Steps:
1.  I started with the Fox in Airplane die and cut out all the pieces with yellow, red, green, blue, silver, tan, brown and vellum
2.  I assembled the pieces using a fine tip glue and a small pair of tweezers
3.  My base is a slimline white card measuring 8 1/2 x 7 scored on the 7 side 3 1/2.  Using the Clouds Slimline dies I cut the clouds using all 3 different dies
4.  Glue the clouds to the card leaving the bottom of the cloud with no glue so you can tuck in the next cloud just below it
5.  Create your little banner, I just did it free hand.  Pop your plane to the front of the card and then add clear sequin and you card if complete

You're Just Plane Wonderful!

Hello!  This is Sukie and I have an all occasion card to share today. I used a die set from the new Springtime die release for my card.  The new dies are definitely perfect for those all occasion cards.

I used basic card stock to cut out the Fox in Airplane and the Clouds & Sun.  A bit of ink was used around the edges of the clouds for some dimension.
The background for my card was created with a cloud stencil and some Oxide Ink.  I spritzed the clouds with some water for a softer appearance.
Once my cloudy background dried, I adhered the airplane as the focal point of my card.
Next, I adhered the two smaller clouds amongst the cloudy sky leaving enough space for the larger cloud.
I stamped a sentiment on the largest cloud and affixed it in the empty space above the airplane.
This card will be fun for several occasions including a birthday celebration or congratulatory event.
Here are the die sets used on my card, available in the store:

There is also a St Patrick's Day sale going on until March 18th. You can save up to 60% off on selected designs.

Now onto my card for today. I am featuring the new Fox in Airplane die. I created a card to send to my precious little Granddaughter in California. So let's get started with some details on how I created my card.

Design Steps:
I started by cutting the Fox in Airplane and used the packaging colors because I knew they would work well with the outdoor scene I was creating.
Next I started my stenciled background. I used a cloud stencil, a layered mountain stencil with pine trees along with various distress and die inks. Here are my supplies:
And this is my finished scene with my stamped sentiment..
Next, I attached the Fox and Airplane image using dimensional adhesive.  I wanted it lifted off the background for more depth.
To complete my card, I attached the image panel to an apple green card base and scattered a few sequins.
And, that's it for me for this week. I will be back on Tuesday with another sample from the Spring release. I hope I have given you an idea for a way to use this whimsical new die.

The Sky's the Limit

Happy Friday!  It's Jeanne today and I have a fun card using the Fox in Airplane die from the new Springtime release.

This little pilot really caught my eye.  Not only do we have a few pilots in our family, but this works well with encouraging or congratulatory "sky high" type sentiments!

I started with a sketch from Splitcoaststampers that I rotated 90 degrees.

I went through my scrap box and picked out scraps that coordinated with the papers I wanted to use. Then I cut the pilot and plane from the Fox in Airplane die and the sun and clouds using the older Spring Frogs die.  I used vellum for the windshield.

My card and base is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches.  I cut my base panel from striped paper and two other squares 4 1/4 inches square and 4 3/8 inches square.

I glued the two small panels together and added my sentiment strip (3/4 x 5 1/2 inches) and sun to the panels.

I trimmed my sun flush with the panels...

... then after gluing that to the base panel, I added the clouds and trimmed the banner flush with the base panel.

To add dimension I popped up the plane using foam strips.  I am one of those who uses A LOT of foam strips.  I like my popped up images to feel solid.  But this is purely a personal preference.

My pilot is taking to the skies!

This die and all the new Spring release dies are on sale right now!  They are 25% off and 60% off if you purchase the entire bundle!  There are so many cute dies - from bunnies to flowers to gnomes!  Click here to go to the store.
