Sending Hugs!

Happy Friday!  It's Jeanne posting today and I have a card that can be either a thinking of you card, or if you change the colors, a Valentine's Day card.
This card uses the new Puppy Love Letter die along with the Hugs Phrase and Kitty Love Mail Dies.

To start I cut all the pieces from white card stock.
This card has a lot of pieces and one of the things I do when working with many pieces is divide them into specific items - the dog, the mailbox, etc. - and put like pieces in small plastic containers.  (In the past, I have also used a muffin tin for this.)
I took the pieces for my dog and cat, colored them with Copic markers and glued them together.
Then I colored the rest of the pieces and assembled them.
For my card base I used a piece of 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" designer paper and glued that to an A2 Highland Heather card base.  I wanted to have a spring-like look so I decided to use a yellow background.  The first image a put down was the kitty and mailbox.

I then adhered the word "Hugs" and used foam dots to pop up the puppy and letter.  I'm very pleased with this card - it would be perfect for a friend who needs a pick-me-up or as a Valentine's Day card!

Happy Valentine's Day

Hello everyone!

Happy New Year!  I wish all of you good health, happiness and lots of crafting in the new year.  It's Donna here to share with you a Valentine card.  There are several newly released Valentine dies that you just have to see.  Go over to the CottageCutz store and check them out.  Check out the blog also, because some of the Design Team members have made some beautiful cards with the new dies.

I am using the Puppy with Valentine and Kitty Love Mail on my card.  These sets are adorable and so easy to assemble.  See below on how I put my card together.

Here is how I put my card together:

I cut all the pieces I need for the Puppy with Valentine die.  It's so nice because I was able to use all scrap pieces of paper to cut this out.  It does not take much paper for this die.

Here I assembled the dog and inked him.  I used the black pen to color in the eyes and the white pen to make the pupils.

I cut all the pieces I needed for the Kitty Love Mail, again I used all scrap pieces of paper.  I inked all my edges and assembled the mailbox.  I decided not to use the flowers.  I used the CottageCutz 7" Grass Border for the grass.

Here I wanted to show you that I used a tool made by Spellbinder called "Tool in One" to push all the small pieces of paper out of the die. If you don't have one of these, this is a great tool to have.

To finish the card off, I added the clouds from the CottageCutz "Clouds & Sun" die and added my sentiment using the CottageCutz "Happy" die.

Thank you so much for stopping by, please come back again soon.

Spring Chick A-Dee Z-fold Card/Coloring Video

Hello everyone today I'm sharing a Sweet Cottage Cutz Spring Chick-a-dee from The Scrapping Cottage! I've also done a video showing how I colored her and with what colors.
My card is the opposite of the Z-Fold card, when open it should fold like a Z but i wanted to do mine a little different, so it folds in :)
I love Cottage Cutz Spring Chick-a-dee, she is sooo cute, and super fun to color. I almost was going to use the Dusting technique i love doing on these but decided to color with copics today.

Ive added some pearls to both their dresses, and to the flower by the mailbox. The LOVE is stamped from Cottage Cutz Vintage Key.

mailbox was dusted with Tim Holtz Colors-
The Post was dusted in-Tea Die
Mailbox=Spun Sugar
Letter in Mailbox=antique linen
Grass=G99,G24,YG13

Copic Colors I used for Spring Chick-a-dee
For Spring Chick=YR31,Y11,Y08
Cheek Color=R20
Beak and Feet=YR09,YR15
Dress & Hat=RV34,RV23
These colors were used on this Spring Chick-a-dee below. and all the chicks above, the only color i cant remember is the one on the front of the card, since that green was used on the hat a few days ago. I think for the dress on the front I listed it in the video below. :)

Hope you enjoy my video!
I did forget to show how i add the cheeks in the video since it was running out of time, but I just add them with R20 and if you want to soften them use the clear blender copic. I didnt soften them in these. I also added some white gel pen to the cheeks.

Thank you for looking and have a lovely day!
Hugs to all,
Cheryl
