He Has Risen

Hi!

It's Anja here. Today I have a simple Easter card for you.

For this card I used:
- Cottage Cutz die (Calla Lily Cross),
- Distress Inks,
- white card base (15x10,5 cm),
- water color paper (14x9,5 cm),
- green card stock (14,2x9,7 cm),
- white card stock for die cuts,
- brush,
- washi tape,
- water spritzer,
- heat gun,
- Glossy Accents,
- printer,
- paper trimmer,
- paper glue.

First I did the background. I spritzed water over the paper and added color with the brush. Then I dried the paper.

Next I spritzed drops of color over the paper. Again I dried it with the heat gun.

Next I trimmed the paper for the background.

Then I cut four crosses. One from green cardstock, two from heavier cardstock (300 g) and one from the same paper as the card base.

I glued white crosses on top of each other. I glued the green cross a few millimeters over.

Next I printed and trimmed the sentiment.

When I had all the pieces cut and colored I glued it on paper. I added a few drops of Glossy Accents for more interest.

And my card was done.

Have a nice Sunday. See you again next week.

Anja Z.

DT Samples- Spring Day 4

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Happy Thursday to you! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit today. We are sampling DT cards using dies from the new Spring dies release.

They are in the online store and 25% off for a limited time. There are 27 new dies in the release and each one is cuter than the next. They will be perfect for your Easter and Spring card making. We thought you might like to have some new and creative ideas for your Easter or Spring cards using these new dies. So let's get started with some details on the cards for today. We have 2 different styles today- a religious as well as a whimsical theme.

Card 1: Our first card today is from Pam MacKay. She used the new Calla Lily Cross die to create this beautiful Easter card. It's a representation of the Christian faith and Easter.

She used thick gold foil and put it through her die cut machine with the embossing mat instead of the cutting plate. It came out beautifully and with such elegant detail. The cross is framed with the pierced ovals die.  Her background designer completes her card.

Card 2: Our next sample is from Jeanne Knobbe. She used the Bunny Truck and Bunny Treats dies, along with the clouds from Spring Frogs to create this fun outdoor scene. For the  grassy knoll she used designer paper and a plate as a template for the curve. The sky background is also designer paper. This would be a great card to make multiples and send out for Easter.

Well, that's our samples for today. I hope the team has given you some fresh ideas on ways to use these new Spring dies. We will be back again tomorrow with more samples from the team. And, if you are thinking of getting any of these new dies, they are on sale for a limited time in the online store.
