Haunted House Dollar Store Decor

Happy Tuesday crafty friends!
I hope your day is off to a great start and you are enjoying the new season we just hit...FALL! It is our collective households favorite season! I am outvoted 3-1. All of my family members love fall most of all! I love it, because I love them! Anyway, the fall feasts are a lot of fun. One of the celebrations is halloween. While as a family we do not participate in halloween, I do have a couple of halloween events I do for my job. So I wanted to make something that I could used to decorate the booth. Here is what I created.

Here is my project. It is super cute. It is a free standing decor piece.

I started with a plain haunted house from the Dollar Store.

I painted the house with some purple paint. I made a base for it by gluing some jenga type wood blocks to both sides. I then painted them with some black paint.

With the black paint, I painted some "roof tops" While the paint was still wet, I sprinkled some glitter on them.

For the moon die cut, I used some wire and sandwhiched a couple of the dies together with some foam tape between them.

I then went to work adding in all the super cute die cuts I used. As with most of my projects, I started by die cutting all my pieces from white cardstock. I then colored them in with my markers.
In this close up you can see the following dies: The tops of the cake sho

Here is one last look at my completed project. Below are the dies I used.

Baked with Love!

 Hello Friends

Happy Thursday! It is Pam sharing with you today!

I have recently been on a baking kick!  But in order to keep it off my waistline and the hubby's I am giving a lot of it away!  So I thought this card would make a perfect companion to the baked goods.  I used the adorable Cake Shoppe die to create this sweet little card.

Design Steps:

1.  The white card base is 4 3/4 x 6 3/4, the frame and heart is from Pine Cone Papers.  I used dimension tape to attach the frame to the card base.  I also used a dimension dot behind the heart
2.  Use the Cake Shoppe die and cut out the following paper: DP red checked, DP brown, DP dotted turquoise, white, vellum and DP dotted mustard
3.  Using the Clouds Horizontal Slimline die cut out some clouds in DP checked turquoise

4.  Finish decorating the little cake shop and add the clouds to the sky.  I added 3 rhinestones: two to the banner and one on the flower on the cake shoppe sign.  Your card is complete

Theme Your Cake Shoppe And Use it All Year Long!

Hi everyone! My name is Linh and I'm honored and excited to be here as a guest designer. I have a new video up on the CottageCutz YouTube Channel. In this video, I'll show you how I took the Cake Shoppe from the new Sweet Treat release and combined it with the Spooky Camper set to create two different cards. The Cake Shoppe is super versatile and can be themed so you can use it all year long.

For both cards, I die cut from solid color cardstock. It's a great way to use up all your scraps and saves you from having to color little pieces. For the smaller pieces, I used a glue pen to apply adhesive. This allows you to get glue precisely where you want it.  I like to die cut a lot of elements so I can mix and match and have a lot of choices when I go to create my card. I had so many leftover pieces, I made a second card!

This first card is a Halloween themed cake shoppe.

This card converts the cake shoppe to a haunted house.

On this second card, I used some of the Cake Shoppe elements differently.  The small windows and front porch step I used as bricks. The greenery in the pots I used as bushes. And I combined more of the Spooky Camper elements to complete my haunted house.  I had so much fun tucking all the spooky elements here and there. I especially love the cat that's hiding behind the pumpkin. :)
