Autumn Blessings

Hello Friends

I have another card project to share today.  This card shows you how versatile some of your dies can be.  The focal point which is the lantern is actually a Christmas die.  But I thought it would be beautiful in a autumn or Thanksgiving card.  The dies I am featuring today are: Vintage Holiday LanternFall BranchHarvest Foliage and Fall Barrel.

Design Steps:

1.  I have used this technique before so hopefully you don't mind a refresh.  To create the leaves I used a piece of Alcohol Ink Yupo and an applicator.  I put several of the colors of alcohol ink on the applicator and then dabbed it onto the Yupo paper.  I changed the applicator cotton rectangle and tried a few different colors.  I did this 3 times as you can see on the Yupo sheets

2.  Next I used the Fall Branch die and cut it out of the brown tones sheet and then the red and yellow sheet.  I left the brown tones branch in tact.  I then cut off the leaves from the red and yellow branch

3.  I matched up the leaves and then glued the red and yellow ones on top of the brown branch as shown above

4.  I also used Yupo paper and alcohol inks for the berries and sunflowers the dies used are Harvest Foliage (berries) and Fall Barrel (sunflowers and leaves)

5.  For the background I used TH inks and blender brushes on a piece of cream colored card stock measuring 3 3/4 x 5.  Masking off an area where the candle light will be the brightest and then filling it in last.

6.  I cut the lantern out of copper card stock and added some dark brown with copic markers to give it a little texture.  The candle was cut out of cranberry card stock with the flame in yellow and the wick in black.  The base is a brown A2 card with a piece of rust measuring 4 x 5 1/4. Glue the rust to the brown and then add the blended cream card stock.  Pop up the lantern and then arrange the foliage.  Add your sentiment and your card is complete
