Sugar Snowman

Hello Cottage Cutz fans!  It's Jeanne posting today - just one day before a three day weekend!  YAY!  My card today features a sweet new die from the 2018 Christmas release - which is on sale now for the Labor Day weekend.
This sentiment and die is terrific for the baker in your life.  (And that baker may even be you.)  The card was super simple to put together so if you need to make multiples, this die is perfect.
I wanted the snowman to look like he was made of sugar so I cut him from some Dazzling Diamonds glitter card stock.  I used a marker to add his eyes and mouth.
Next I cut most of the pieces from white card stock and the measuring cup from a piece of brushed metallic card stock.
I colored the white pieces using markers.
The sentiment is cut from red card stock that has an adhesive backing added, making it easy to adhere to the card.
I wanted a little interest behind my snowman so I stenciled a background.  I started with red hearts but ultimately decided upon the Crumb Cake hearts.  The red ones were just too bold.
I then assembled all the pieces.  I used a strip of patterned paper 1 1/8" on the right side and used two solid strips each 1/8" wide on the top and bottom.
I adhered it all to an A2 card base.  I hope you enjoyed my little "sugar-man" today.  He was fun and easy to make!

Don't forget - there is a labor day sale on the website this weekend with 25% off the new Christmas release and up to 60% off other select dies !

Christmas Release Design Team Samples (Part 3)

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit today. We are sampling DT cards from the new 2018 Christmas release. There are 29 new designs in this release and it's just Part 1 of what we will be releasing for Christmas. And, they are currently 25% off for a limited time.

We have had a good response when we do a group post on a release. It gives you the opportunity to see more card samples from the Design Team. So we are continuing that again for this release. We have 3 samples for your viewing pleasure today.

Card 1: This first sample is from Janja Albreht. She used the Baking Gnomes die to create her super cute card. This die is so sweet and Janja used it so well. Notice how she used the pine branches to give the impression of the gnomes baking in the woods. This card would be a perfect accompaniment to a baked gift or even sent to someone who loves to bake.
Card 2: This next sample is from Pam MacKay. She used the Christmas Floral #2  die to create her Merry Christmas card. From the floral die, she chose the poinsettia and accented it with gold stems from the die. The double stitched square die is a perfect accent for her elegant card.
Card 3:  Our 3rd sample today is from Anja Zurga. She used the Swirly Tree with Stars die to create this distressed style card. She created her background with distress and oxide inks an embossed the sentiment for a mixed media appeal. Her swirly tree is a great fit for the card background.
That's our samples for today. Hope the team has given you some ideas for using these dies.  The 2nd release of Christmas dies are now available in the online store. They are 25% off now as well. The DT will begin showing samples soon.

Christmas Release Design Team Samples (Part 2)

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit today. We are sampling DT cards from the new 2018 Christmas release. There are 29 new designs in this release and it's just Part 1 of what we will be releasing for Christmas. And, they are currently 25% off for a limited time.

We have had a good response when we do a group post on a release. It gives you the opportunity to see more card samples from the Design Team. So we are continuing that again for this release. We have 4 samples for your viewing pleasure today.

Card 1: This first sample is from Janja Albreht. She used the Measuring Cup Snowman to create this ever so cute card. How fabulous would this be along with a plate of homemade Christmas cookies or a loaf of sweet bread at  Christmas time?  And, a handmade card is a gift in itself. The baked with love sentiment is part of this new die. Her color scheme makes this card such an eye catcher.

Card 2:  This next sample is from Jeanne Knobbe. She used the Christmas Floral #2 die to create these exquisite winter blooms. She sponged on the colors for the flowers and berries for a soft look. Her embossed background and beautiful seam binding tie her design together.
Card 3: Our 3rd sample today is from Anja Zurga. She used the Winter Deer Ornament die to create these pretty gift tags. This new die makes it quite easy to create your own gift tags. Wouldn't these look great tied to some of your Christmas gifts?
Anja cut her tags in white cardstock, sponged the deer and then added a blue sponged background that was cut with a circle die. She added some gold ribbon and the tags are finished. Easy-Peasy and the die is on sale right now. Just another way to get more use out of your dies.
Card 4: Our last sample for today is another from Janja Albreht. She used the uber sweet Christmas Fawns die to create her card. This die has been really popular and is currently out of stock. But keep checking back for it's return. These 2 cuties are really enamored with the Christmas ornament hanging from the branch.
Well, that's our samples for today. Drop by again tomorrow for another group post.

Teacup Snowman

Hi, Lois here today with another card made using one of the brand-new Christmas dies.  These are just Part 1 of the Christmas Release.  There are more to come in a short while.  Be sure to check out the store while these dies are on sale at 25% off.

The die I chose for today is a cute one called Teacup Snowman.  I thought I would make a fun fold card called the Joy Fold Card.

To start my card, I cut all the cardstock:

Two pieces of red - 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" and 3" x 8"
Two pieces of patterned paper - 2 3/4" x 3 3/4"
One piece of patterned paper - 2 3/4" x 4"
One piece of patterned paper - 4" x 5 1/4"
White cardstock for die cutting

I constructed my card first by scoring the two red pieces of cardstock -- the larger one at 5 1/2" and the smaller one in half at 4".

I then adhered the patterned paper on both pieces . . .

. . . and glued the smaller piece to the inside panel.

I opened the small panel and stamped a sentiment on the inside.

I set my card aside and cut the Snowman Teacup die from white cardstock.

Using Copic marrkers, a small black pen, and a white gel marker, I colored and constructed my snowman . . .

. . . adhering him to the front panel.

A Joy Fold card usually requires something on the front to hold the small panel closed.  So I pulled out an old CottageCutz holly die and made a closure for the front, adhering it with large foam circles.

Here again is my completed card.  You can see how the corner tucks in behind the holly sprig.
