Berry Special Cards in a Canning Jar

Hello All, This week I have a Canning Jar filled with mini strawberry gift cards. I made four assorted cards, added a bit of shredded paper to the bottom of the canning jar and decorated the jar. The cards can be attached to cello bags of sweets or homemade cookies. I used several of the Cottage Cutz mini dies, The Strawberry Mini, Doily Mini and the Picket Fence Border. The mini white flowers that are on the berries came from the Cottage Cutz Laundry Line 4x4 die. There are several cute micro mini designs on the laundry line that work great as added items on any project. Bqt Flowers, Watering Can, Birds. . . .
As you can see, I created a basic layout with the Cottage Cutz Mini Strawberry placed on the Cottage Cutz Mini Doily. . than placed inside a red 1 3/4" circle (this made it all pop). Each of these items have foam dots sandwiched between to add depth. I cut a four splint section of fence from the Cottage Cutz Picket Fence Border and placed in different area's of the mini cards. than arranged the circle medallion. The stamp HOMEMADE is from the Cottage Cutz Home Baked Clear stamp set. I randomly added the word Homemade, than stamped a swirl for vine. . . . .than the mini white flowers. The pink base paper happened to be polka dot on one side and pink wood grain on the other. . so I switched the designs out. The cards have red ribbon and brown lumpy yarn tied off the corners..

I know everyone has their thoughts on the coloring of berries, but I will just . . throw my thoughts into the pile. #01 I highlighted the right side of the berry with a deeper shade of red Copic marker. #02 highlighted part of  that deeper section with white ink with a sponge #03 colored the seeds with a white gel pen, than when dry. . colored the white gel seeds with the same red Copic (will come out a crisp shade of pinky red). I know a lot of you color your seeds black, but I tend to like the seeds red . . where the seeds seem to just begin to turn. I never can seem to find a brand of color pen that will come out a crisp light color on dark card stock, so I have been using a white gel pen and tinting the white to the color I need. . it's like working on white card stock in a small area.
This is the berries dangling off the ribbons and lumpy yarn tied around the canning jar. Just sandwick the ribbon between two card stock berries.

Thanks Berry Much. . and have a wonderful Spring. . Barry

Chocolate Covered Grasshoppers

Hi Crafters, it's Carol here today.  I wanted to show you this cute little project I made that is so easy and would be so fun to share with your friends, or children, or even grandchildren.  I thought this cute little Grasshopper die was so adorable.  When we had our blog hop, a lot of you asked for 3D items so this is one I came up with that I called "Chocolate Grasshoppers".   lol

So here are my Chocolate Grasshoppers-another a very easy project. I cut two grasshoppers from the Cottage Cutz mini Grasshopper die with green card stock. I then dry brushed some black ink around the edge of the grasshopper. I just placed two small round foam dimensionals on the back in the middle of one grasshopper and attached the second one on the back. Cover a Hershey Nugget with a 3/4" strip of paper and glue your grasshopper legs right on top. Tie a little bow and glue to the front and you are done. Easy peasy and lots of fun and oh so cute.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  I appreciate it very much.  See you soon.

Bee Happy

Good morning friends!  I hope you are all enjoying the Memorial Day Weekend!  We have had some really beautiful weather here in Massachusetts, so I was in the mood to make a fun summery card.  This is the Kitty Bee Sweet die.  It was a Valentine release.  This die could be used for  so many occasions, not just for Valentines.   I also used the Oval Doily and Frame.  I used the inner piece.  There are several ways you can use this die as well.

I used my ruffled gingham ribbon once again.  I love the ruffled gingham ribbons.  I hope you haven't grown tired of them.  Lots of yellow and black elements for my card today.  Enjoy the rest of the holiday weekend!

Hugs and smiles,
Janice

More Tea Time Fun With CottageCutz

Hello and happy Saturday!  Lorie here today with a couple of cards I've been working on since I last posted here.  I've been having plenty of fun with this Tea Time Release, and the fun continues.  For the first card, I went with somewhat of a cameo theme, by combining the CottageCutz Oval Doily and Frame die with the CottageCutz Teapot Mini die.  I simply cut everything with the desired color card stock, and added embellishments, along with the liquid pearls, which was a quick and easy way to give it a  special little "extra".
The next card was a fun one to make that also showcases the CottageCutz Oval Doily and Frame die.  Some pretty patterned paper, and some strategically placed pearls give this SWEET birthday card the perfect amount of bling.  The tea cakes were cut using the CottageCutz Tea Cakes 4x4 die, and they were colored with Copic markers.  The sentiments come from Peachy Keen Stamps.
Here's a closer look at the detail of these sweet tea cakes.  I used Stampin' Up! Crystal Effects to make the ganache frosting look extra shiny.   Some coarse glitter on the fruit and flowers would have been a nice touch, too, BUT it would be best to do that BEFORE  the frosting, which needs plenty of drying time.

Thanks so much for stopping by The Scrapping Cottage Blog today.  It's always wonderful to have you, and I wish you a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend.  Happy Crafting!

CottageCutz Tea Pot Mini Album

Hello everyone, Cheryl here with a Tea Pot Mini Album designed for The Scrapping Cottage using the BEAUTIFUL  CottageCutz "Tea Time Release"
Today I'm sharing 3 sides done, I will show the other 3 and a video later.

So on my front page here I used the CottageCutz
I made a pocket for the tags and the photo matte. The Tea cup and napkin were cut out using K& company dp. I distressed them all. The Oval Doily was distress with Tim Holtz ink, and the spoon was colored with copics. I added a TON of flowers to the front of this tea pot!

Next we have the backside of the front cover, and I LOVE this page too!!!
I used the CottageCutz Tall Tea pot on this page, and the mini Tea Cakes and some more Tea Time Tags but cut them down smaller.
I attached a plastic container to this page it houses the mini tea pot album that will hold small photo's. The lace on this page is vintage, and I added a feather, wedding spray, flowers, and a clip to hold the small tags.

Here is the Mini Album open.

On my 3rd page, I used
CottageCutz-
Tea Time Border

I made a mini 6 month calendar, and then thought you could add photo's to the back side of each month. Also could add photo's behind this calendar in the pocket.

Thank you for looking and have a lovely day!!!
Hugs to all,
Cheryl

Filigree Teapot Ornament/Favor

Welcome to The Scrapping Cottage Blog it's Carol here today with a 3D creation for you.  Isn't this tea time set spectacular.  I am so in love and so excited with the whole thing.  I love tea themed things and this release has so touched my heart.  All the dies are so feminine and lovely you just can't help but want it all!  The ideas are endless.

So let me tell you what I used to create this:

Other: White Card stock, Recollection Pearls, VersaMagic,  Embossing Powder, tiny Prima roses, ribbon, and metallic cording from Michael's (you can find this in the ribbon section at Christmas) and glue.

You can make these in colored card stock if you wish or use your VersaMagic pad to press the die cut on and sprinkle with embossing powder and heat set.  What I did was die cut two teapots and only applied glue at the top outer edge of the tea pot, the top of the handle, and the top of the spout.  Then I shaped the bottom to make it round and glued it to the mini doily.   I decorated with different sized pearls, tied a couple ribbon bows and glued on a small rose.  Just tie the cording at the top to make it an ornament or leave off if you want a simple favor.
Here is how pretty these ornaments will look on your tree.  Notice how the light captures the embossing to make it sparkle and shine.
I left this one plain white.  If you didn't want to make it an ornament-this would be beautiful for a bridal shower or tea party favor.  How pretty this would look sitting in the center of a plate on a set table.  It could be used as a keepsake ornament long after the party.

You could do one for a Silver Wedding Anniversary Party or a Golden Wedding Anniversary Party as well.  How about a little girls birthday party done in pink.  So very sweet and so very cute!
Thanks so much for stopping by to view my creations.  I really do appreciate it.  If you have any questions on how to assemble this just let me know and I will help you the best I can.
