You Gnome Me

Happy Friday!!! It's Jeanne today with another card using the Magical Garden dies.  This one features the cute little gnome an a tree stump.
The card came together very quickly, in large part because I used the sketch from this week's sketch challenge at Splitcoaststampers.
The first thing I did was pick the papers so I knew what colors I'd use for the gnome.  The panel is A2 size and I used the largest tag from the Mail Tag dies and the third smallest rectangle from the Stitched Rectangle set.  I had this cute sentiment which I thought worked perfectly for this little guy if I had him hold a rose instead of his lantern.
Once I had the panel, tag and sentiment cut out, I die cut the gnome from both white and vanilla card stock.  Normally I would just use the vanilla for everything but I needed a white beard so I used the white as well.
I ended up coloring him in a combination of regular dye inks, Distress Oxide Ink (the tree stump) and Copic markers (the small pieces - belt, rose, stem, etc.).  I used just a touch of the DO on his nose and cheeks for a rosy glow.
To get him to hold the rose I simply rotated his hand and snipped off part of the underneath part of the arm/hand.  When he was assembled I glued him to the tag.
I then assembled the card.  The tag is popped up using foam and I added the baker's twine to the top of the tag.
Super quick and fun card to make!

Don't forget to stop by the online store today where there is a NEW RELEASE of Birthday Dies!!!! They are really cute and on sale for a limited time.  Be sure to visit the blog in the upcoming weeks for great inspiration with the new dies!

Love Ya Mom! Botanical Mother's Day

Hello everyone! It's Janet here with a delicate botanical mother's day card. I like the mix of hard black and white with all the soft pastels that frame the Mom tag sentiment. Perhaps I should have chosen a slightly more muted yellow ribbon but in person it isn't as bright as the photo shows here.

Speaking of MotherÅ› Day, 22 new dies have just been released to celebrate the occasion. The dies are currently on sale so go check them out and take advantage of the discount. The link can be found HERE.

My flowers and greenery are all from the new Botanical Garden 1 die that is part of the Llamas and Botanicals release. Rather than color the flowers with markers, I used white panels that I first covered in blended distressed oxide inks, splattered with water to create additional texture, and then sprayed with gold glimmer spray. These panels of color created a really special array of flowers for the card. I raised the card front with the wide black frame up on foam tape to create a window which was a perfect base to arrange all the individual flower die cuts. I used the versatile Mail Tag die to use as the sentiment to tell Mom just how much she's loved.

The video shows how I created the panels, how the individual flowers go together and how I created the card front with the framed and raised front panel. You can watch the video by clicking HERE or clicking on the thumbnail below.

Thanks for spending some time with us here today. See you again soon!

Hugs,
Janet

Merry Christmas Brag Book

Hello everyone,

It's Donna here with another fabulous project using the new Christmas release.  This is a brag book or mini album that would be perfect for someone's grandparents or anyone you want to show off some pictures of your loved ones.

On the front cover this is the new Merry Christmas Ribbon.  I die cut it out with glossy red paper and green and replaced the red letters with the green and now I have the ribbon in green to use on another project.

I found this tutorial on Youtube, here is the link.  I made just one change, which I will try and show you with my diagram below.  The mini is constructed with one piece of 12 x 12 paper!  Here are the score lines that you will start with.

Here is what the mini looks like folded, it measures 5 x 4:

Here are pictures and instructions on decorating the inside of the mini:

The first pages you lift the flap, I used the Mail Tag Set to make some tags for the book.  These can be used for journaling or you can add pictures to them.  This mini can hold lots of pictures.  The background paper measures 3 1/2 x 3 1/2.  The bottom pieces measures 1 1/4 x 3 1/2.

The next set of papers measure 4 7/8 x 4.  The beautiful ornaments are from the new release Ornament Trio.

This flap is lifted up from the "joy" page and this is another photo mat or journaling page.  The white background 4 7/8 x 4.  The Believe is from the Believe w/ Holly Flourish, I only used the word.

The next page has a pocket that I added two journaling or photo mats.  The Joy is from the Ornament Trio.   The next page has a small pocket and I added the card from the Merry Christmas Notecard. The card you can add a couple of pictures inside or again journal something inside.

This is the back side of the mini.  You can get to the two journaling cards from this side too.

Here is a closer look at the Merry Christmas Notecard.  If you don't want to use this as a journaling card you can also make this into a Christmas card or a gift tag.  This notecard has so many possibilities.

So, what do you think?  Do you like the brag book!  I so enjoyed making this.  I hope you have been inspired to start making one for yourself. Please stop by and join the challenge, this months theme is birthday you still have about 7 days.

Thank you so much for stopping by, please come back and visit again soon!
