Puppy with Easter Eggs

Hi!

It's Anja here. I've bought some new colored sprays this week and had to try them out. This time I used it with the background and to color this adorable Puppy.

For this card I used:
- Cottage Cutz dies (Puppy With Valentine, Chickies w/Egg Plant, Grass, Tree & Vines),
- Distress Inks (Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Barn Door, Fire Brick, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Peeled Paint, Vintage Photo, Black Soot),
- white card base (13x13 cm),
- watercolor paper for background (12,5x12,5 cm),
- white card stock for die cuts,
- color sprays (pink, red, orange, brown),
- plastic stencil for background,
- heat gun,
- black pen,
- white pen,
- paper trimmer,
- paper glue.

First I cut and colored the puppy, eggs and grass. I used brown spray for darkers part of the puppy. I used black and white pen for the eyes.

I made background using a stencil and three colors of the spray. I dried the paper with the heat gun.

Then  trimmed the paper to the right size.

When I had everything cut and colored I glued the pieces to the card base.

And that's all from me for today.
Have a nice Sunday,

Anja Z.

Be My Valentine

Hello!  This is Sukie and today I'm sharing a set of Valentine's cards for my guest designer post.  With Valentine's Day tomorrow, these are perfect to share with that special someone especially an animal lover.
These sweet puppies were die cut from the Puppy with Valentine and Puppy Love Letter dies.  The sentiment, banner and hearts are from the Be My Valentine Puppies die set.  I also cut out two circles from the Stitched Circle Set and two squares from the Double Stitched Square Set.
I went with a black, white and red theme for my card so the die cuts came together very quickly.  The puppies were cut with neutral shaded card stock.  A bit of Glossy Accents were added to the eyes and noses of the puppies.
The puppies were centered perfectly on the white circles.  After I adhered the tiny hearts next to the puppies, I decided to cut the black circles with my electronic die cutter for a frame.  The patterned papers are from the My Minds Eye "Charmed" 6x6 paper pad.  I love the row of neutral hearts amongst the black hearts.
The sentiment banner was adhered along the top edge of the die cut squares so that it would be centered above the puppies.
The finished die cuts were layered on the base of my card.  The sweet puppies are the perfect focal point for these Valentine's cards.
Here are the dies I used on my cards, available here:

Valentine Release DT Samples Round 2- Friday

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit today. We are having another round of DT samples from the brand new Valentine & St Patrick's Day release. There are 16 new designs in this release. And for a limited time the individual dies are on sale at 25% off.

So for the next several days, we will be giving you some additional creative ideas for using the dies. Our cards today are all about Valentine's Day.

Card 1: Our first sample today is from Jeanne Knobbe. She used the Valentine Hedgehog and the Valentine Phrase & More dies to create this sweet Valentine card. I love how she is presenting this cute little hedgehog as the writer of the Valentine phrases. She kept her design on the clean & simple side which is so perfect for the masculine cards we might need. By placing the sentiment panel on an angle and using only red & white colors, her card makes such an impact.

Card 2: This next sample is from Janja Albreht. She used several of the doggie dies to create this ever so cute card. Puppy with Valentine, Puppy Love LetterShamrock & Valentine Scottie and Be My Valentine Puppies to create her pet themed Valentine. Each one of the little pups is cuter than the next. How perfect would this be for your pet loving friends? She kept her design simple to allow the pups to be the center of attention. The "With Love" phrase is an older die and is currently on a 50% off sale. It worked so well as the finishing touch on her card.

Card 3: Our last sample for today is from Anja Zurga. She used the Valentine Hedgehog and Swinging Monkey dies to create this playful Valentine card. Her background was sponged with distress oxide inks and then she used a cloud stencil and baby wipe to get the white clouds.

For her little scene she has the hedgehog busy painting his little fence for Valentine's Day, and the monkey came and stole away the heart. So cute! This would be a great card for your significant other or a loved little one. Kids love getting cards especially handmade ones.

Well, that's our samples for today. I hope the team has given you some inspiration on ways to use these new dies. And, you still have time to order and receive the dies in time for Valentine card making. If you are contemplating a purchase, don't wait to long, The dies are on sale for a limited time.

Stop by again tomorrow for more team samples.

Valentine Release DT Samples (Part 4)

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit today. We are sampling DT cards from the brand new Valentine & St Patrick's Day release. There are 16 new designs in this release. And for a limited time the individual dies are on sale at 25% off.

This is Day 3 of the new release sample, so if you haven't seen the other 2 days click here , here and here.  The design team has been showing some creative work  using these new dies.  So let's get started with the cards for today.

Card 1: Our first sample today is from Pam MacKay. She used the Shamrock & Valentine Scottie die to make this sweet Valentine card.  The red bow and sweet headband turned these into the cutest boy and girl puppies. The scalloped border and dotted ribbon just add to the overall charm of her card. Wouldn't this be a perfect card for your sweetheart, your son or daughter? And don't forget about the grandkids who love puppies!
Card 2: Our next sample is from Jeanne Knobbe. She used the Lucky Leprechaun die to create this enchanting Valentine card. Jeanne is honoring her Mom's Irish heritage, and she decided to take on the challenge of making a Valentine card with this delightful little leprechaun. I think it's a maximum success! The sentiment she chose ties right to the leprechaun image! She used Copic markers to color her image and to add to the overall appeal of her card, she added some washi tape on the right side.

Card 3: The last sample for today is one that I (Mary Marsh) created using the Puppy with Valentine die. Love how this little Valentine pup is all decked out in his neck scarf.  The fancy heart he is holding would tug at anyone's heart strings. For a sentiment, I used the words from the Be My Valentine Puppies die. Lots of cute critters in this new release.

Well, that's our samples for today. I hope the team has given you some inspiration on ways to use these new dies. And, if you are contemplating a purchase, don't wait to long, The dies are on sale for a limited time.

We will have another group post with these dies the end of the month to give you some more ideas for Valentine card making.

Happy Valentine's Day

Hello everyone!

Happy New Year!  I wish all of you good health, happiness and lots of crafting in the new year.  It's Donna here to share with you a Valentine card.  There are several newly released Valentine dies that you just have to see.  Go over to the CottageCutz store and check them out.  Check out the blog also, because some of the Design Team members have made some beautiful cards with the new dies.

I am using the Puppy with Valentine and Kitty Love Mail on my card.  These sets are adorable and so easy to assemble.  See below on how I put my card together.

Here is how I put my card together:

I cut all the pieces I need for the Puppy with Valentine die.  It's so nice because I was able to use all scrap pieces of paper to cut this out.  It does not take much paper for this die.

Here I assembled the dog and inked him.  I used the black pen to color in the eyes and the white pen to make the pupils.

I cut all the pieces I needed for the Kitty Love Mail, again I used all scrap pieces of paper.  I inked all my edges and assembled the mailbox.  I decided not to use the flowers.  I used the CottageCutz 7" Grass Border for the grass.

Here I wanted to show you that I used a tool made by Spellbinder called "Tool in One" to push all the small pieces of paper out of the die. If you don't have one of these, this is a great tool to have.

To finish the card off, I added the clouds from the CottageCutz "Clouds & Sun" die and added my sentiment using the CottageCutz "Happy" die.

Thank you so much for stopping by, please come back again soon.
