Happy Holidays

Hello!  This is Sukie and today I'm sharing this adorable Christmas card.  This sweet bird sitting on the snowy branch is the cutest!
The cardinal is from the Jolly Cardinal die set and inked with my Oxide Inks.  I cut out a circle from the Circle Set and a doily from the Nested Stitched Doily Set.  The sentiment is from the Happy Holidays die set which was adhered on a flag from the Retro Tag Toppers die set.
I went with a Christmas plaid background for my card base and layered in with the doily and circle cuts.
The cardinal was centered inside the layered doily.  I placed the first sentiment flag directly above the doily.
The second flag was added to the bottom edge of my card finishing off the curved sentiment design.
Here are the dies used on my card, available in the store:

Bluebird of Happiness

Hi!  It's Jeanne sharing today.  We've had bluebirds in our yard recently and they inspired me to make this card.
I love this chubby little bird who started off as a cardinal but ended up as a bluebird.   I used the Jolly Cardinal and the Christmas Floral # 1 dies to cut the bird and leaves in white cardstock.
Distress Oxide inks and a sponge dauber were used to color the pieces.

I cut three panels - one 4.25 x 5.5 inches and two using the second and third largest of the Stitched Rectangle dies (I love these dies - they are SO useful!)  I also cut a strip of patterned paper 4.25 x 1.5 inches from striped designer paper.
I embossed the large panel using a leaf pattern folder that coordinated with the die cut leaves.
I centered the stitched panels on to of each other and adhered them together.  I glued the bird down by placing the glue mainly in the center and leaving the edges unglued.  This allowed me to tuck the leaves under the bird.  I cut apart one of the leaf branches so the I had a little more variety.  The bird was placed high on the panel to leave room for the sentiment.
The sentiment is heat embossed in white and popped up using foam dots.  I started by thinking this would be a birthday card, but it really could be for any occasion.  This little cardinal is so cute and just by changing his colors you can make him into many birds - think robin, canary, sparrow.....

Jolly Cardinal

Happy Thursday everyone!

Kathy with you and today I have a Christmas card using a new CottageCutz die called "Jolly Cardinal". Is he cute or what?

I just LOVE birds, and cardinals are definitely one of my favorites! As soon as I saw this little guy, I know I HAD to have it! I love the scarf and little ear muffs, too cute!

Using the Jolly Cardinal Die, I die cut red for the body and green and white for the branch. The remaining pieces were cut with white cardstock and colored with chalk inks.

I used aqua for the card base and red and white for the mats. The white mat was embossed on the upper portion only, stamped with a sentiment, distressed a little and glued to the red mat. Then I added ribbon and popped the mat on the card base. To finish the card I added a snowflake button and a bakers twine bow!

Here's a little close up of the Jolly Cardinal! So cute!
