Vintage Christmas Puppy

Happy Friday!  It's Jeanne today with a vintage looking Christmas card.  My daughter said the colors looked vintage to her and I had to agree. And the card uses previous Christmas and non-Christmas dies.
I started by die cutting all pieces in various colors of card stock to match my plaid.  For the frame I used the second largest of the Eyelet Squares and the fourth largest of the Stitched Squares.  I centered one inside the other and used washi tape to hold them in place as I ran it through my die cutter.
I cut a white panel for the front 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches, a 2 1/2 inch square from the plaid paper and a piece of ribbon a bit longer than the panel so I could wrap it around the back.
I glued the candy together and covered them in Wink of Stella.
I laid things in place to get a general placement and took a photo with my phone.  I often do this so as I'm gluing things down I have a reference.  This is especially good if you have a lot of pieces or critical placement.
I glued the ribbon 1/2 inches from the left side and lined up my plaid square with the edge.  The bottom of the square is 1 1/2 inches from the bottom of the panel.  I also glued the dog to the plaid square.  His eyes and the nose piece are colored with a marker.
I glued the candy with the notch to the frame (I snipped off the part that showed beyond the frame) and used narrow foam strips to raise up the frame.
Next I tucked one candy under the frame and the other on top.  I also decided at this point to angle my sentiment rather than put it on straight.
In looking at the panel, I thought it needed just a bit more.  So I rounded the upper right hand corner using a corner rounder.  Then on the white A2 card base I adhered a small strip of the plaid paper. I toyed with the idea of using a solid, but decided the plaid looked better.
And the finished card!

We're getting ready for a new release of holiday dies that promises to be WONDERFUL!  There are so many cute dies coming - I can't wait!

Welcome to the neighborhood

Hi, Janja here!
As you know, in July, the design team of CottageCutz will show some fresh ideas with older dies.

- CottageCutz dies: Hallowen Pup, Forest Peekers, Holiday Gate With Wreath, Welcome
- white card base: 5.3 x 5.3" (13,5 x 13,5 cm), folded
- patterned paper: 5.03 x 5.03" (12,8 x 12,8 cm)
- kraft cardstock: 4.76 x 4.76" (12,1 x 12,1 cm)
- white and colored cardstock
- colored ink pads
- white and black pen
- double-sided adhesive tape, self-adhesive pads, glue

To begin, cut out all the parts we need for the gate and both dogs. The gate is later embossed.

Before assembling, add color on all the pieces. I used a gray and black ink pad, and for the eyes a black and white pen.

Prepare a white card base. Cut two slightly smaller squares from kraft cardstock and patterned paper.

Add "Welcome" cutout, and stamp the rest of the sentiment. Attach the main motif with adhesive pads on the background.

Thank you for coming over. See you again tomorrow.

Love Bandit

Happy Friday!  It's Jeanne posting today with throwback card featuring previously released dies. These Forest Peekers are always fun because there are so many ways and occasions to use them.
To start, I cut all the pieces from white card stock and used Copic markers to color them.  The marker colors are listed in the photos below.

When I was finished coloring, I assembled the main components.
Next, I stamped the sentiment on vanilla card stock and used the middle Nested Scallop circle die to cut it out.  I then sponged the edges with some Soft Suede ink and colored in the heart with the R29 marker.
I cut an A2 card base from vanilla card stock and two panels - one solid and one patterned.  These are each 1/8 inch smaller the previous one.
I stacked and adhered these together, then glued the images to the front of the card.
I used a white gel pen to add dots to the mushrooms.  The sentiment circle is popped off the card using foam dots.

I hope you enjoyed this card today.  The Forest Peekers are so much fun!  This set comes with a fox and racoon but there are several other dies with different animals if you have a favorite forest critter.

Thanks for stopping by and have a creative weekend!

FOREST FRIENDS ARE HERE FOR YOU

HELLO!!!!!

It's Anita here and a warm welcome to the Cottage Blog on New Year. I wish loads of happiness and good health for all of you.

New Year means new things and I start my post with my new friends from the forest. They are super cute and you will love assembling them. You can find the entire collection here

I have made a sweet forest scene where the bunny and the deer are my new friends peeping from the foliage and can you see the mushrooms. I have given a glossy look to them by applying glossy accents.
I loved assembling the whole scene and it looks so pretty.

Have a look for yourself.

I have embossed the card panel with an embossing folder and all the die cuts are coloured with distress inks.

Exploring forest on four paws

Hi, Janja here!

Today I share with you another card created with "In the forest" dies. These are really great dies, and can be used for many occasions.
For the main image I chose a curious puppy, who went alone exploring the forest.

For the card we need:
- white card base: 4.3 x 5.5" (11 x 14 cm), folded
- light gray paper: 4 x 5.2" (10,2 x 13,3 cm)
- colored cardstock
- Distress ink: Antique Linen, Tea Dye, Brushed Corduroy, Mowed Lawn, Peeled Paint, Black Soot
- Distress marker: Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain
- Perfect pearls powder
- white color

Cut out puppy with die - forest peekers, beaver & dog. Shadow all pieces with distress inks and compose a puppy.

We do the same with the die - tree stump & log for peekers. Use brown cardstock, shadow it with distress inks and draw darker spots with a marker.
From green cardstock cut fern and grass. Use mushrooms & greenery die.
Now we need a snail and cute mouse. Cut out both with the forest critters die.

I did not really like selected gray paper, so I refreshed it.

Add a few drops of green and yellow ink in a mini mister together with perfect pearls powder for silky shine and water.
Shake it up well, and sprinkle the background.

When all the pieces are assembled and attached to the background, apply a white color with a sponge.

Completed card.

That’s all for today. Thank you for coming over and have a great day.
