Wedding Card In Gold

Hi!

It's Anja here. Wedding Season is in full bloom. I'm working on a few wedding projects right now. And I made another, using Cottage Cutz dies from previous releases.

For this card I used:
- Cottage Cutz dies (Fancy Doves w/ Ribbons, Wedding Rings, Expressions Congratulations, Victorian Corners),
- Distress Inks (Pumice Stone, Mustard Seed),
- white card base (15x15 cm),
- gold pigment ink,
- black pen,
- Wink of Stella glitter brush,
- adhesive foam pads,
- water spritzer,
- brush,
- heat gun,
- paper glue.

First I made the background. I mixed gold ink with water and spritzed it o the card base.

Next I dried the paper with the heat gun and then colored around the edges with golden ink.

Next I cut and colored the doves.

Then the rings. I used glitter brush for the diamond.

Then I cut and colored both corners and the sentiment.

When I had everything colored I arranged it on the card and glued it together. I used adhesive foam pads for the doves.

This is all from me for today. I wish you a lovely Sunday and see you again next week.

Anja Z.

Hydrangeas from vellum paper

Hi, is Vladka

Hydrangeas are one of my favorite flowers. I like them in all colors. At home, we have blue, pink and violet variations and they were my inspirations this time. You know, how pink blossoms are green first and then slowly change their color to pink. I tried to imitate something like this:

(Photo is from this side)

I created them with vellum paper. Let me show you how I did it.

Basics:
White card base: 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches (cut 5 1/2 x 11 inches, fold in half)
Additional piece of white cardstock (5 x 5 inches)
Vellum paper to cut out the flowers.

Other Supplies:
CottageCutz Dies: Listed Below
Distres markers: Peeled Paint and Mowed Lawn
Copic markers: Y17, G21, E04, R29
Other: Gold Glimmer Spray, Scissors, Paper trimmer, Sizzix machine, Scor-buddy,

1. With 3D Flower #5 die, cut second and third biggest petals out with vellum paper. Repeat this till you have at least 15 petals.
2. On the back side of the petal, color the middle of the petal with copic Y17:

3. Take green copic marker G21 and color all the petal as shown on the photo:

4. Take marker E04 and color the above part of the petals:

5. Take the last copic marker, the red one and color just petals's borders:

6. Now it is time to repeat steps 2,3 and 4 in opposite way. So, let´s start with pink copic marker (E04) in color the above part of the petal again to erase the hard borders between the colors. Do the same with green and yellow one. Namely, the copics work a little bit different on vellum paper. They don´t blend as they normally do. So, you can move the colors a little bit. Here is the difference between the petal from the previous stage (left one) and the one which is already colored with E04 again (right one).

7. With Leaves and Stems die cut leaves out with vellum paper. Also leaves can be colored with two shades of green copic markers, but I used Distres markers instead: Peeled Paint and Mowed Lawn. I colored all the leaves on the backside with both markers.

8. Use also Rose Doily die and cut it out of vellum paper and glue all the petals and leaves on it as shown on the photo:

9. Add some splodges with Gold Glimmer Spray on Additional piece of white cardstock. You can use any other spray for this or you can add splodges also with paint brush and distress inks or any other watercolors. Let it to dry.

10. With Cross-Stitched Square Set (Basics) cut the second biggest square out with white cardstock. Glue die cut pieces on the square and the all together on additional piece of white cardstock and the on the card base. With Expressions Congratulations cut the word out with white cardstock and glue it on the top of the card across the flowers.

Card is finished. I hope you like it.

3 TECHNIQUE WEDDING CARD

Hello dear friends...

It's Saturday today and I'm Anita with my weekly post. I hope you all are enjoying the spring season and the summer fun in your place. In India, it is extremely bright and sunny but I think in many parts of the world, the spring flowers are still blooming.
So lets begin with today's work. In my post today, I will show you a technique of partial die cutting and adding a little twist to the background of a card, with negatives of diecuts as stencils. And we will make a shaker card!!! Sounds difficult !!!!! Of course not !!! It's super easy and fun to play using these and believe me , the results are very pretty.

So here is my full card reveal.

Please follow the pictures below to see how to proceed with my card.
If you are still doubtful about flower making, then follow my flower making video tutorial .

The card measures 5 inches x 7 inches

Cut a  white card stock measuring 4.75 inches by 6.75 inches.
Draw a line with pencil, 3 inches from the top across the card as shown.
Make a mark on either side of the CottageCutz Swan (Elites) die, a little above the final bottom cutting lines and extend the mark at the back of the die so that you know where to place the die, when you turn it on the paper to cut. Coincide the marks with the pencil line.

Now for cutting , place the die and paper on your cutting plates in such a manner, that the part that is below the pencil line will be extending out of the cutting plate and the part above the pencil line will be on the cutting plate. So the part , that is out of the cutting plate, will not cut through the paper when passed through the die cutting machine. This is how it should look.

Now remove the portion attached to the die cut that is on the top of the line, with a craft knife, giving an empty background space behind the die cut.

Cut a rectangle out of the middle die from the CottageCutz Wide Rectangle Stitched Frame die and further cut it as shown.
Adhere around the cut frame of the partial cut swan with foam tape.

Cut another die cut from the swan die , apply glossy accents and sprinkle Fairy dust shimmer glitter on top . Let it dry and attach to the partial die cut of the swan with foam tape.

Let us make the shaker card  now.

Turn the card and attach a piece of transparent acrylic sheet covering the cut portion behind the swan.
Put foam tape all around and add lot of silver sequins in the centre.
Cut a piece of white card stock and colour with Tumbled Glass Distress ink. Further colour with Wink of Stella clear Glitter pen to add a little sparkle .
Attach this to the foam tape on the acrylic sheet.

Make flowers using 3D Flower # 2 and colour the leaves in green using peeled paint distress ink . I have used cutwork leaves and flourish from the CottageCutz Lacey Rose Die.
Arrange on the corner as shown. Finish with pearlised flowers and lace strips.

For the background, Cut out two die cuts from CottageCutz Congratulations die and stick two die cuts together to get a fairly thick expression. Ink with Tumbled glass ink and colour with glitter pen.
Take the negative of the congratulations die cut and use it as stencil to add a print on the background as shown.
Distress with same colour. Add the expression and finish off with sequins.

Attach the final mat card stock on to the front of the card base.

The card is ready.

I hope you liked this post and my card. Do leave your feed back.

Pile of Books

Hi, all! Vladka here again.
This time with card which is perfect to congratulate someone who graduate, for example. I took Bible and Lilies die and cut out the book three times. I colored them with different Distress Inks and made pile of books.
By the way, did you see new Spring release, already? It is so inspiring, I love it. I also cut out little Owl and Congratulation Expression and put everything together. I like the simplicity of this card. It was really quickly finished. But with such great dies is everything easy:) This is why I love CottageCutz dies. Motives speak for themselves.
I wish you all great weekend!
